So Paul still remained a good while. Then he took leave of the brethren and sailed for Syria, and Priscilla and Aquila were with him. He had his hair cut off at Cenchrea, for he had taken a vow.

I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea,

and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law;

“ Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them:‘ When either a man or woman consecrates an offering to take the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to the Lord,

‘ All the days of the vow of his separation no razor shall come upon his head; until the days are fulfilled for which he separated himself to the Lord, he shall be holy. Then he shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.All the days that he separates himself to the Lord he shall not go near a dead body.He shall not make himself unclean even for his father or his mother, for his brother or his sister, when they die, because his separation to God is on his head.All the days of his separation he shall be holy to the Lord.‘ And if anyone dies very suddenly beside him, and he defiles his consecrated head, then he shall shave his head on the day of his cleansing; on the seventh day he shall shave it.

Afterward I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.

And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.

When we had sighted Cyprus, we passed it on the left, sailed to Syria, and landed at Tyre; for there the ship was to unload her cargo.

They wrote this letter by them: The apostles, the elders, and the brethren, To the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: Greetings.
