不过是有几样辩论，为他们自己敬鬼神的事，又为一个人名叫耶稣，是已经死了，保罗却说他是活着的。

便查知他被告是因他们律法的辩论，并没有什么该死该绑的罪名。

他是自高自大，一无所知，专好问难，争辩言词，从此就生出嫉妒、纷争、毁谤、妄疑，

彼拉多见说也无济于事，反要生乱，就拿水在众人面前洗手，说：“流这义人的血，罪不在我，你们承当吧。”

我若行了不义的事，犯了什么该死的罪，就是死，我也不辞。他们所告我的事若都不实，就没有人可以把我交给他们。我要上告于凯撒。”

惟有那愚拙无学问的辩论，总要弃绝，因为知道这等事是起争竞的。

“我卖了无辜之人的血是有罪了。”他们说：“那与我们有什么相干？你自己承当吧！”

彼拉多说：“你们自己带他去，按着你们的律法审问他吧。”犹太人说：“我们没有杀人的权柄。”

要远避无知的辩论和家谱的空谈，以及纷争，并因律法而起的争竞，因为这都是虚妄无益的。

更可幸的，是你熟悉犹太人的规矩和他们的辩论；所以求你耐心听我。

连圣殿他也想要污秽；我们把他捉住了。

也不可听从荒渺无凭的话语和无穷的家谱；这等事只生辩论，并不发明神在信上所立的章程。
