開始控告耶穌，說：「我們發現這個人在敗壞我們的同胞，阻止納稅給凱撒，還自稱是基督、是王。」

由此，彼拉多就想要釋放耶穌。可是猶太人喊叫說：「你如果釋放這個人，就不是凱撒的朋友了。所有把自己當做王的，就是反對凱撒的！」

傳講我們羅馬人不可以接受、也不能遵守的規矩。」

保羅申辯說：「無論是對猶太人的律法，或是對聖殿，或是對凱撒，我都沒有犯過罪。」但菲斯特斯想要討好猶太人，就問保羅說：「你願意上耶路撒冷，讓我在那裡審判這些事嗎？」保羅就說：「我已經站在凱撒的審判臺前，這裡就是我應該受審的地方。我沒有虧負過猶太人，就像您也很清楚地了解那樣。既然如此，如果我行了什麼不義的事，犯了什麼該死的罪，就是死我也不拒絕；但如果這些人對我的控告不是真的，那麼誰也不能把我交給他們。我向凱撒上訴！」

有幾個你所指派管理巴比倫省事務的猶太人，就是沙德拉克、米沙克、亞伯尼哥；王啊，這些人卻不理會你的命令，既不事奉你的神，也不向你所立的金像膜拜！」

他們就在王面前回應說：「王啊，猶大被擄之民中的但以理，不理會你的命令，也不理會你所簽署的禁令，他仍然一天三次祈禱。」

因為神的旨意就是要你們藉著行善，堵住那些愚妄人無知的口。
