樹德、西拉原屬先知、復諄諄勉之、藉堅其志；

如是者二年、亞細亞居民、無論猶太、希臘、咸得聞主之道。

猶太人相語曰：『彼將何往、而使吾人覓而不獲耶？意者彼將周遊列國、以教萬民歟？

且呼曰：『義塞人當起而相助！是即隨處教人蹂躪吾民、吾律及斯殿者也。今且引希臘人入殿、污斯聖所！』。

信者咸集、物盡歸公、

是故主囑爾等獨立特行、毅然離眾、而自成一群。『毋染一塵、吾必納爾。吾願作爾慈父、爾當為吾子女。』此乃全能主宰之語也！

主假宗徒之手、廣行神蹟、信眾咸一德一心、集於所羅門廊下、餘眾不敢雜廁其中、然而民益敬之、男女信者日盛；

二人既釋、以司祭長與長老所言告諸會友、

多有納其言而受洗者、一日之內、歸化者約三千人、恆心守持宗徒之訓、踐履相愛之道、共食所析聖餅而祈禱焉。

而尤使吾儕喜出望外者、則彼等先獻身於主、而後秉承聖意以為吾儕效勞也。

彼之所說、有信者、有不信者；

是故吾儕特派樹德、西拉、俾為爾面述種切。

乃於會堂中與猶太人及其他虔敬天主者、從事討論；市中有所遇、亦如之、日以為常。

葆樂、巴拿巴在以哥念、仍入猶太會堂、暢傳聖道、猶太人及希臘人因而起信者甚眾。
