他們就把他帶到亞略‧巴古，說：「你所講的這新道，我們也可以知道嗎？

外邦人聽見這話，就歡喜了，讚美神的道；凡預定得永生的人都信了。

官長或是法利賽人豈有信他的呢？但這些不明白律法的百姓是被咒詛的！」內中有尼哥德慕，就是從前去見耶穌的，對他們說：「不先聽本人的口供，不知道他所做的事，難道我們的律法還定他的罪嗎？」他們回答說：「你也是出於加利利嗎？你且去查考，就可知道加利利沒有出過先知。」

他們中間有些人聽了勸，就附從保羅和西拉，並有許多虔敬的希臘人，尊貴的婦女也不少。

這樣，那在後的，將要在前；在前的，將要在後了。」

雨雪從天而降，並不返回，卻滋潤地土，使地上發芽結實，使撒種的有種，使要吃的有糧。我口所出的話也必如此，決不徒然返回，卻要成就我所喜悅的，在我發他去成就的事上必然亨通。
