保罗讲到公义、自制和将来的审判的时候，腓力斯就害怕起来，说：“你先走吧，等我有空的时候再叫你来。”

神使死人复活，你们为什么认为是不可信的呢？

保罗申诉到这里，非斯都大声说：“保罗！你疯了；你的学问太大，使你疯了！”保罗说：“非斯都大人，我没有疯，我说的都是真实的话，清醒的话。

因为他说：“在悦纳的时候，我应允了你；在拯救的日子，我帮助了你。”看哪！现在就是悦纳的时候，现在就是拯救的日子。

他们与他争辩的，只是他们的宗教问题；还论到一位已经死了的耶稣，保罗却说他是活着的。

因为他已经定好了日子，要藉着他所立的人，按公义审判天下，并且使他从死人中复活，给万人作一个可信的凭据。”

所以，就像圣灵所说的：“如果你们今天听从他的声音，就不要硬着心，好像在旷野惹他发怒、试探他的日子一样；

我们为基督的缘故，成了愚笨的；你们在基督里，倒成了聪明的。我们软弱，你们倒强壮；你们受人尊敬，我们倒被轻视。

众人一致推辞，头一个说：‘我买了一块地，不得不去看一看，请原谅我。’

他们却戏弄神的使者，藐视他的话，讥诮他的先知，以致耶和华的忿怒临到他的子民身上，直到无法挽救。

如果你们是归向耶和华，你们的亲族和儿女就必在俘掳他们的人面前蒙怜悯，可以返回这地；因为耶和华你们的神是有恩惠有怜悯；如果你们归向他，他必不转脸不顾你们。”信差从这城到那城，走遍了以法莲和玛拿西各地，直到西布伦；那里的人却戏弄他们，讥笑他们。可是在亚设、玛拿西和西布伦中，也有人愿意谦卑，来到耶路撒冷。

又有些人遭受了戏弄、鞭打，甚至捆锁、监禁；

希律和他的侍卫就藐视耶稣，戏弄他，给他穿上华丽的衣服，把他送回彼拉多那里。

‘傲慢的人哪！你们要看、要惊奇、要灭亡，因为在你们的日子，我要作一件事，就算有人告诉你们，你们总是不信。’”

我们却传扬钉十字架的基督；在犹太人看来是绊脚石，在外族人看来是愚笨的，

那么，让我们也出到营外到他那里去，担当他的凌辱。

于是罗得出去，告诉娶了他女儿的女婿说：“你们起来离开这地方；因为耶和华就要毁灭这城。”但是他的女婿以为他在开玩笑。
