In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

In the past, God didn’t judge people for what they didn’t know. But now he commands all people everywhere to turn away from their sins.

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

“ God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him.

“ Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent,

So having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent,

Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,

The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked; but now he commandeth men that they should all everywhere repent:

who in the generations gone by allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways.

and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age;

whom God sent to be an atoning sacrifice, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness through the passing over of prior sins, in God’s forbearance;

For we have spent enough of our past time doing the desire of the Gentiles, and having walked in lewdness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts.They, having become callous, gave themselves up to lust, to work all uncleanness with greediness.But you didn’t learn Christ that way,if indeed you heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit,and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.Therefore putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another.“ Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath,and don’t give place to the devil.Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need.Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice.And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

delivering you from the people, and from the Gentiles, to whom I send you,to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’“ Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,but declared first to them of Damascus, at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.

Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

and saying,“ The time is fulfilled, and God’s Kingdom is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”

Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.Therefore don’t be partakers with them.For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,

They went out and preached that people should repent.

When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying,“ Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life!”

for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

“ Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,

For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription:‘ TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ What therefore you worship in ignorance, I announce to you.

Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting.”

testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus.

“ Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”

For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death.

I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”

Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance,but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior;

You have done these things, and I kept silent. You thought that I was just like you. I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes.

From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say,“ Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
