好讓他們尋求神，或許因此真能摸索而找到他。其實他離我們每一個人並不遠，

俾知追求所天、庶幾冥心索摸、得識真主。實則天主之於人人、近在咫尺；

God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

其實神並不是沒有為自己留下證據，因為他常行美善：從天上賜給你們雨水和豐收的季節，使你們食物充足，滿心喜樂。」

原來，自從創世以來，神那不可見的本性，就是他永恆的大能和神性，都藉著所造之物，被人明白、被人看見，以致使人無法推諉。

這樣，其餘的人，就是所有被稱為我名下的外邦人，都會尋求主。

難道你輕視神豐富的仁慈、寬容、耐心，不明白他的仁慈是引領你來悔改的嗎？

耶和華啊，你已經洞察我，認識我！我坐下、我起來，你都知道；你從遠方就知道我的意念。我行路、我躺臥，你都細察；你熟悉我的一切道路。耶和華啊，我舌頭上的話還沒有說，看哪，你已經完全知道了！你前後圍繞我，把你的手按在我身上。這知識對我過於奇妙，過於高深，我不能達到。我去到哪裡，能逃避你的靈呢？我逃到哪裡，能躲避你的面呢？如果我升到天上，你在那裡；如果我躺在陰間，看哪，你也在那裡！如果我揚起黎明的翅膀，安居在海洋的盡頭，縱然在那裡，你的手仍引導我，你的右手也抓緊我。就算我說：「黑暗必然覆蓋我，我周圍的亮光也必變為黑夜」，但對你來說，黑暗也不是黑暗，黑夜如同白晝一樣明亮，黑暗就像光明一樣。是你創造了我的肺腑，在我母腹中編織了我。

諸天述說神的榮耀，穹蒼宣告他手的作為。這日到那日湧出言語，這夜到那夜陳述知識。無言無語，無聲無息。但它們的聲音傳遍全地，它們的言語傳到地極。神在它們中間為太陽安設帳篷，太陽如同新郎出洞房，又如勇士歡然奔路。它從天這邊出來，繞到天的那邊，沒有什麼能在它的熱氣面前隱藏。
