And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

耶和华神用地上的尘土塑造人，把生命的气息吹进他的鼻孔里，那人就成了有生命的人。

我不是因你的祭物责备你，你的燔祭一直在我面前。我不从你家里拿公牛，不从你羊圈里拿公山羊；因为森林中的百兽是我的，千山上的牲畜也是我的。群山一切的飞鸟，我都认识，田野一切的走兽也都属我。我就算饥饿，也不用对你说，因为世界和其中所充满的都是我的。难道我吃壮牛的肉，喝公山羊的血吗？

又是谁首先给了主，使自己将来得到回报呢？”

神耶和华创造诸天，展开穹苍，铺张地和地所出的一切，又把气息赐给地上的众人，把灵赐给行在其中的人——神耶和华如此说：

因为我们活着、行动、生存，都在于他，正如你们中间的一些诗人也曾经说过，‘原来我们也是他的后裔。’

所有这些都仰望你按时赐给它们食物。你赐给它们，它们就收取；你张开手，它们就饱享美食。你隐藏你的脸，它们就惶恐；你收回它们的气息，它们就断气，归回尘土。你发出你的气息，它们就被造；你使地面更换一新！

对那些今世富有的人，你当吩咐他们不可高傲自大，也不可把盼望寄托在靠不住的财富上，而要寄托在神身上，神把万物丰丰富富地赐给我们享受。

我对耶和华说：“你是我的主；我的好处不在你以外。”

好让你们成为你们天父的儿女。因为他使太阳升起，对着恶人，也对着好人；降雨给义人，也给不义的人。

你们去学‘我要的是怜悯，而不是祭祀’这话是什么意思吧！我来不是要召唤义人，而是要召唤罪人。”

其实神并不是没有为自己留下证据，因为他常行美善：从天上赐给你们雨水和丰收的季节，使你们食物充足，满心喜乐。”

我必不永远责备，也不长久发怒，否则人的灵——我所造的生命气息，在我面前就会衰竭。
