蓋吾嘗閒步街頭、一覽爾所崇拜之對象、偶值一壇、上書「獻於未識之神。」茲吾欲揭示於爾者、正爾所未識而敬事者也。

For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship— and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.

爾曹不知所拜、我儕知所拜、蓋救者、出自猶太人也、

昔爾不識上帝、非上帝反服事之、今識上帝更為上帝所識、奈何復向委靡卑狹之小學而從之乎、

永生也者、知爾為獨一真上帝、且知耶穌基督、爾所遣者也、

往者冒昧以行、上帝不咎、今乃隨在、命眾悔改、

所教乃人所命、故徒拜我、○

世人恃其智、不識上帝、故上帝喜以若愚之道、救諸信者、斯上帝之智也、

義哉父乎、世不知爾、惟我知爾、彼亦知爾遣我也、

耶穌曰、我若自榮、則不得為榮、榮我者父、即爾所稱爾之上帝、

彼既不以上帝存於中、上帝聽其喪心、行所不當行、

天地間、稱上帝雖不一、蓋在人觀之、有多上帝多主、

吾知上帝子臨格、賜我明澈、以識真者、我心與真者交、即上帝子耶穌基督、此真上帝、亦永生、

我弗譴爾、遂謂我與人無異、我必責爾、彰爾罪戾兮、

異邦之人、不識其誡命、不蒙其仁慈、爾曹當頌美耶和華兮。

願尊榮常歸永生之君、無敝無形、獨一睿智上帝、垂至世世、

自開闢以來、上帝之永能性體、目不及見、惟其所造之物、可睹而知、故人未由推諉、顧彼既知上帝、猶不以上帝尊之謝之、乃志意虛妄、心頑蒙昧、自稱為智、適成愚魯、不崇永生上帝之榮、反拜速朽世人禽獸昆蟲之像、故上帝聽其心之嗜慾、淪於污穢、互辱其身、夫恆久所當頌美者上帝也、乃人棄真尚偽、崇奉受造之物、不崇奉造化之主、

彼惡人妄自尊崇、謂超於凡稱上帝、世所崇拜者、而敵之、入上帝殿、居上帝位、自以為上帝、

即世之上帝、惑不信者心、使肖上帝之基督福音之榮、不光照焉、我傳道不言己、乃言耶穌基督為主、緣耶穌為爾僕、昔上帝命光照暗、今照吾心、使知上帝榮、在耶穌基督而顯、
