因為我走遍各處的時候，留心看你們所敬拜的，居然遇見一座壇、上面寫着說：「獻與不認識的神」。那麼你們所不認識而敬拜的，我把這個傳布給你們。

因為我邊走邊觀察你們所敬拜的，發現一座祭壇上刻著『獻給不認識的神』；那麼，我把你們所不認識而敬拜的這一位，現在傳講給你們。

適遊行時、觀爾所拜者、遇一壇、書曰、未識之神、爾所未識而崇拜者、我明告爾、

我方行遊、見爾所拜、遇一壇、書曰、未識之上帝、爾所未識而崇奉者、我為爾告之、

我適遊行、欲觀爾所崇拜者、遇一祭壇、上刻曰、未識之主、爾所未識而崇拜者、今我告爾、

蓋吾嘗閒步街頭、一覽爾所崇拜之對象、偶值一壇、上書「獻於未識之神。」茲吾欲揭示於爾者、正爾所未識而敬事者也。

For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship— and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.

你們所拜的，你們不知道；我們所拜的，我們知道，因為救恩是從猶太人出來的。

但從前你們不認識神的時候，是給那些本來不是神的作奴僕；現在你們既然認識神，更可說是被神所認識的，怎麼還要歸回那懦弱無用的小學，情願再給他作奴僕呢？

認識你－獨一的真神，並且認識你所差來的耶穌基督，這就是永生。

世人蒙昧無知的時候，神並不監察，如今卻吩咐各處的人都要悔改。

他們將人的吩咐當作道理教導人，所以拜我也是枉然。」

世人憑自己的智慧，既不認識神，神就樂意用人所當作愚拙的道理拯救那些信的人；這就是神的智慧了。

公義的父啊，世人未曾認識你，我卻認識你；這些人也知道你差了我來。

耶穌回答說：「我若榮耀自己，我的榮耀就算不得甚麼；榮耀我的乃是我的父，就是你們所說是你們的神。

他們既然故意不認識神，神就任憑他們存邪僻的心，行那些不合理的事；

雖有稱為神的，或在天，或在地，就如那許多的神，許多的主；

我們也知道，神的兒子已經來到，且將智慧賜給我們，使我們認識那位真實的，我們也在那位真實的裏面，就是在他兒子耶穌基督裏面。這是真神，也是永生。

你行了這些事，我還閉口不言，你想我恰和你一樣；其實我要責備你，將這些事擺在你眼前。

別國他都沒有這樣待過；至於他的典章，他們向來沒有知道。你們要讚美耶和華！

但願尊貴、榮耀歸與那不能朽壞、不能看見、永世的君王、獨一的神，直到永永遠遠。阿們！

自從造天地以來，神的永能和神性是明明可知的，雖是眼不能見，但藉着所造之物就可以曉得，叫人無可推諉。因為，他們雖然知道神，卻不當作神榮耀他，也不感謝他。他們的思念變為虛妄，無知的心就昏暗了。自稱為聰明，反成了愚拙，將不能朽壞之神的榮耀變為偶像，彷彿必朽壞的人和飛禽、走獸、昆蟲的樣式。所以，神任憑他們逞着心裏的情慾行污穢的事，以致彼此玷辱自己的身體。他們將神的真實變為虛謊，去敬拜事奉受造之物，不敬奉那造物的主－主乃是可稱頌的，直到永遠。阿們！

他是抵擋主，高擡自己，超過一切稱為神的和一切受人敬拜的，甚至坐在神的殿裏，自稱是神。

此等不信之人被這世界的神弄瞎了心眼，不叫基督榮耀福音的光照着他們。基督本是神的像。我們原不是傳自己，乃是傳基督耶穌為主，並且自己因耶穌作你們的僕人。那吩咐光從黑暗裏照出來的神，已經照在我們心裏，叫我們得知神榮耀的光顯在耶穌基督的面上。

那時，你們與基督無關，在以色列國民以外，在所應許的諸約上是局外人，並且活在世上沒有指望，沒有神。
