Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him,“ May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting?

眾人都驚訝，以致彼此對問：「這是甚麼事？是個新的教導啊！他用權柄命令污靈，連污靈也聽從了他。」

保羅站在亞略巴古當中，說：「諸位雅典人！我看你們凡事很敬畏鬼神。

亞基帕對保羅說：「准你為自己申訴。」於是保羅伸手辯護說：

你們要為我的緣故被送到統治者和君王面前，對他們和外邦人作見證。

亞基帕對非斯都說：「我也願意親自聽聽這個人。」非斯都說：「明天你就可以聽他。」

親愛的，我寫給你們的不是一條新命令，而是你們從起初所受的舊命令；這舊命令就是你們所聽過的道。然而，我寫給你們的是一條新命令，在基督裏是真實的，在你們也是真實的，因為黑暗漸漸消逝，真光已經在照耀。

過了幾天，腓力斯和他夫人猶太女子土西拉一同來到，就叫保羅來，聽他講論信基督耶穌的事。

我賜給你們一條新命令，乃是叫你們彼此相愛；我怎樣愛你們，你們也要怎樣彼此相愛。

因為你有些奇怪的事傳到我們耳中，我們想知道這些事是甚麼意思。」
