耶稣看见这一群人，就上了山，坐下后，门徒到他跟前来，他开口教导他们说：

听从我，天天在我门口守望，在我门框旁等候的，那人有福了。

同样的事也发生在以哥念。保罗和巴拿巴进了犹太人的会堂，在那里讲道，所以有很多犹太人和希腊人都信了。但那不顺从的犹太人煽动外邦人，使他们心里仇恨弟兄。二人在那里住了好些日子，倚靠主放胆讲道，主藉他们的手施行神迹奇事，证明他恩惠的道。城里的众人却分裂了：有依附犹太人的，有依附使徒的。

因此我被耶和华的愤怒充满，难以忍受。“你要把它倒在街上孩童和成群的年轻人身上，他们连夫带妻，年长者与高龄的人都必被擒拿。

智慧在街市上呼喊，在广场上高声呐喊，在热闹街头呼叫，在城门口，在城中，发出言语，说：“你们无知的人喜爱无知，傲慢人喜欢傲慢，愚昧人恨恶知识，要到几时呢？

那时人会专爱自己，贪爱钱财，自夸，狂傲，毁谤，违背父母，忘恩负义，心不圣洁，

有些虔诚的人把司提反埋葬了，为他大大哀哭。

他是个虔诚人，他和全家都敬畏神。他多多周济百姓，常常向神祷告。

有敬虔的外貌，却背弃了敬虔的实质，这等人你要避开。
