So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God- fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there.

Listen as Wisdom calls out! Hear as understanding raises her voice!On the hilltop along the road, she takes her stand at the crossroads.By the gates at the entrance to the town, on the road leading in, she cries aloud,“ I call to you, to all of you! I raise my voice to all people.

And immediately he began preaching about Jesus in the synagogues, saying,“ He is indeed the Son of God!”

As was Paul’s custom, he went to the synagogue service, and for three Sabbaths in a row he used the Scriptures to reason with the people.He explained the prophecies and proved that the Messiah must suffer and rise from the dead. He said,“ This Jesus I’m telling you about is the Messiah.”Some of the Jews who listened were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, along with many God fearing Greek men and quite a few prominent women.

And then he told them,“ Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.

So Paul stood, lifted his hand to quiet them, and started speaking.“ Men of Israel,” he said,“ and you God fearing Gentiles, listen to me.

One day as he saw the crowds gathering, Jesus went up on the mountainside and sat down. His disciples gathered around him,and he began to teach them.

Joyful are those who listen to me, watching for me daily at my gates, waiting for me outside my home!

The same thing happened in Iconium. Paul and Barnabas went to the Jewish synagogue and preached with such power that a great number of both Jews and Greeks became believers.Some of the Jews, however, spurned God’s message and poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against Paul and Barnabas.But the apostles stayed there a long time, preaching boldly about the grace of the Lord. And the Lord proved their message was true by giving them power to do miraculous signs and wonders.But the people of the town were divided in their opinion about them. Some sided with the Jews, and some with the apostles.

So now I am filled with the Lord’s fury. Yes, I am tired of holding it in!“ I will pour out my fury on children playing in the streets and on gatherings of young men, on husbands and wives and on those who are old and gray.

Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square.She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate:“ How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools hate knowledge?

For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.

He was a devout, God fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God.

They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!
