智慧不是在呼喚，聰明不是在發聲嗎？它在路旁高處的最高點，在十字路口站著；在城門旁，在城門口，在進城門的空地上大聲呼喊：“眾人哪！我向你們呼喚，對世人發聲。

隨即在各會堂傳講耶穌，說他是神的兒子。

保羅照他的習慣進去，一連三個安息日，根據聖經與他們辯論，講解證明基督必須受害，從死人中復活，說：“我所傳給你們的這位耶穌，就是基督。”他們中間有人給說服了，就附從了保羅和西拉；還有一大群虔誠的希臘人，和不少顯要的婦女。

他又對他們說：“你們到全世界去，向所有的人傳福音。

保羅就站起來，作了一個手勢，說：“以色列人和敬畏神的人，請聽！

耶穌看見群眾，就上了山；他坐下之後，門徒來到他跟前，他就開口教訓他們：

聽從我，天天在我門口警醒仰望，在我門框旁邊守候的人，是有福的。

保羅和巴拿巴在以哥念照樣進猶太的會堂講道，結果一大群猶太人和希臘人都信了。但不順從的猶太人，煽動外族人，激起他們仇恨的心，來反對弟兄們。兩人卻仍住了很久，靠著主放膽講論，主也藉著他們的手行神蹟奇事，證實他恩惠的道。城裡眾人就分裂了，有的附從猶太人，也有的附從使徒。

因此，我心裡充滿耶和華的忿怒，無法容忍。“你要把我的忿怒向街上的孩童傾倒，又傾在聯群集結的年輕人身上。夫妻一起被捉住，年老的、壽高的也不例外。

智慧在街上呼喊，在廣場上揚聲；在鬧市中心呼叫，在城門口發出言語，說：“你們愚蒙人喜愛愚蒙，好譏笑的人喜歡譏笑，愚昧人恨惡知識，要到幾時呢？

那時，人會專愛自己、貪愛錢財、自誇、高傲、褻瀆、悖逆父母、忘恩負義、不聖潔、

有些虔誠的人安葬了司提反，為他大大悲痛一番。

他是一個虔誠的人，他和全家都敬畏神，對人民行過許多善事，常常向神禱告。

有敬虔的形式，卻否定敬虔的能力；這些人你應當避開。
