And then, dear brothers and sisters, you suffered persecution from your own countrymen. Now they have persecuted us, too. They fail to please God and work against all humanityas they try to keep us from preaching the Good News of salvation to the Gentiles. By doing this, they continue to pile up their sins. But the anger of God has caught up with them at last.

A hot tempered person starts fights; a cool tempered person stops them.

Greed causes fighting; trusting the Lord leads to prosperity.

( No one else so completely sold himself to what was evil in the Lord’s sight as Ahab did under the influence of his wife Jezebel.

Some of the Jews, however, spurned God’s message and poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against Paul and Barnabas.

“ What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either.

This roused the people, the elders, and the teachers of religious law. So they arrested Stephen and brought him before the high council.

The seven days were almost ended when some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul in the Temple and roused a mob against him. They grabbed him,

Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other!

But some of the Jews were jealous, so they gathered some troublemakers from the marketplace to form a mob and start a riot. They attacked the home of Jason, searching for Paul and Silas so they could drag them out to the crowd.
