保羅照他素常的規矩進去，一連三個安息日，根據聖經與他們辯論，

同他到亞細亞去的，有庇哩亞人畢羅斯的兒子所巴特，帖撒羅尼迦人亞里達古和西公都，還有特庇人該猶和提摩太，又有亞細亞人推基古和特羅非摩。

我們從前在腓立比蒙難受辱，這是你們知道的，可是我們還是靠着上帝給我們的勇氣，在強烈反對中把上帝的福音傳給你們。

他的門徒就在夜間用筐子把他從城牆上縋了下去。

約拿單對大衛說：「你平平安安地去吧！因為我們二人曾指着耶和華的名起誓說：『願耶和華在你我中間，以及你我後裔中間作證，直到永遠。』」大衛就起身走了，約拿單也回城裏去了。

於是米甲將大衛從窗戶縋下去，讓他走；大衛就逃走，躲起來了。米甲把家中的神像放在床上，頭枕在山羊毛的枕頭上，用衣服蓋起來。掃羅派一些使者去捉拿大衛，米甲說：「他病了。」掃羅又派一些使者去看大衛，說：「把他連床一起抬到我這裏，我好殺他。」使者進去，看哪，神像在床上，頭枕在山羊毛的枕頭上。掃羅對米甲說：「你為甚麼這樣欺騙我，放我仇敵逃走呢？」米甲對掃羅說：「他對我說：『你放我走吧，我何必要殺你呢？』」

於是女人用繩子把二人從窗戶縋下去，因為她的屋子是在城牆邊上，她也住在城牆上。她對他們說：「你們暫且往山上去，免得追趕的人遇見你們。要在那裏躲藏三天，等追趕的人回來，你們才可以走自己的路。」

於是，千夫長叫了兩個百夫長來，說：「預備步兵二百、騎兵七十、長槍手二百，今夜九點往凱撒利亞去；也要預備牲口讓保羅騎上，護送到腓力斯總督那裏去。」

使徒知道了，就逃到呂高尼的路司得和特庇兩個城，以及周圍地方去，在那裏繼續傳福音。
