保罗照他素常的规矩进去，一连三个安息日，根据圣经与他们辩论，

同他到亚细亚去的，有庇哩亚人毕罗斯的儿子所巴特，帖撒罗尼迦人亚里达古和西公都，还有特庇人该犹和提摩太，又有亚细亚人推基古和特罗非摩。

我们从前在腓立比蒙难受辱，这是你们知道的，可是我们还是靠着神给我们的勇气，在强烈反对中把神的福音传给你们。

他的门徒就在夜间用筐子把他从城墙上缒了下去。

约拿单对大卫说：“你平平安安地去吧！因为我们二人曾指着耶和华的名起誓说：‘愿耶和华在你我中间，以及你我后裔中间作证，直到永远。’”大卫就起身走了，约拿单也回城里去了。

于是米甲将大卫从窗户缒下去，让他走；大卫就逃走，躲起来了。米甲把家中的神像放在床上，头枕在山羊毛的枕头上，用衣服盖起来。扫罗派一些使者去捉拿大卫，米甲说：“他病了。”扫罗又派一些使者去看大卫，说：“把他连床一起抬到我这里，我好杀他。”使者进去，看哪，神像在床上，头枕在山羊毛的枕头上。扫罗对米甲说：“你为什么这样欺骗我，放我仇敌逃走呢？”米甲对扫罗说：“他对我说：‘你放我走吧，我何必要杀你呢？’”

于是女人用绳子把二人从窗户缒下去，因为她的屋子是在城墙边上，她也住在城墙上。她对他们说：“你们暂且往山上去，免得追赶的人遇见你们。要在那里躲藏三天，等追赶的人回来，你们才可以走自己的路。”

于是，千夫长叫了两个百夫长来，说：“预备步兵二百、骑兵七十、长枪手二百，今夜九点往凯撒利亚去；也要预备牲口让保罗骑上，护送到腓力斯总督那里去。”

使徒知道了，就逃到吕高尼的路司得和特庇两个城，以及周围地方去，在那里继续传福音。
