不，你們知道、我們從前在腓立比雖受了苦，又被凌辱，卻還靠着我們的上帝放膽無懼，以極大的奮鬥對你們講上帝的福音。

他的門徒就在夜間帶領着他，由城牆上放下，用筐子縋下去。

於是米甲將大衛從窗戶裏縋下去、讓他走；大衛就逃跑躲避了。米甲把家神像放在褥子裏，又把一個山羊毛枕頭放在擱枕頭的地方，用衣服蓋着。掃羅打發差役去捉拿大衛，米甲說：『他病了。』掃羅又打發差役去看大衛，說：『把他連褥子都抬上我這裏來，我好殺死他。』差役進去，看見有家神像在褥子裏；又有山羊毛枕頭放在擱枕頭的地方。掃羅對米甲說：『你為甚麼這樣哄騙我，放我的仇敵逃走呢？』米甲回答掃羅說：『他對我說：「你放我走；不然，我就殺死你」；何必呢？』

於是女人用繩子將二人從窗戶裏縋下去，因為她的房子是在城與廓之間的牆上；她是住在牆上的。她對他們說：『你們且往山地上去，免得追趕的人襲擊你們；你們要在那裏藏匿着三天，等追趕的人回來，然後你們才可以走你們的路。

千夫長便叫兩個百夫長來，說：『豫備步兵二百，好走到該撒利亞；還要馬兵七十，輕裝兵二百，巡哨到今夜九點鐘。』他也吩咐備妥了牲口，好讓保羅騎上，護送到一路平安、到總督腓力斯那裏；

他們看透了情勢，就逃難到呂高尼的路司得特庇兩個城、和周圍地區；在那裏繼續傳福音。
