但帖撒羅尼迦的猶太人知道保羅又在庇哩亞傳神的道，也就往那裏去，聳動攪擾眾人。當時弟兄們便打發保羅往海邊去，西拉和提摩太仍住在庇哩亞。

保羅照他素常的規矩進去，一連三個安息日，本着聖經與他們辯論，

同他到亞細亞去的，有庇哩亞人畢羅斯的兒子所巴特，帖撒羅尼迦人亞里達古和西公都，還有特庇人該猶，並提摩太，又有亞細亞人推基古和特羅非摩。

我們從前在腓立比被害受辱，這是你們知道的；然而還是靠我們的神放開膽量，在大爭戰中把神的福音傳給你們。

他的門徒就在夜間用筐子把他從城牆上縋下去。

約拿單對大衛說：「我們二人曾指着耶和華的名起誓說：『願耶和華在你我中間，並你我後裔中間為證，直到永遠。』如今你平平安安地去吧！」大衛就起身走了；約拿單也回城裏去了。

於是米甲將大衛從窗戶裏縋下去，大衛就逃走，躲避了。米甲把家中的神像放在牀上，頭枕在山羊毛裝的枕頭上，用被遮蓋。掃羅打發人去捉拿大衛，米甲說：「他病了。」掃羅又打發人去看大衛，說：「當連牀將他擡來，我好殺他。」使者進去，看見牀上有神像，頭枕在山羊毛裝的枕頭上。掃羅對米甲說：「你為甚麼這樣欺哄我，放我仇敵逃走呢？」米甲回答說：「他對我說：『你放我走，不然我要殺你。』」

於是女人用繩子將二人從窗戶裏縋下去；因她的房子是在城牆邊上，她也住在城牆上。她對他們說：「你們且往山上去，恐怕追趕的人碰見你們；要在那裏隱藏三天，等追趕的人回來，然後才可以走你們的路。」

千夫長便叫了兩個百夫長來，說：「預備步兵二百，馬兵七十，長槍手二百，今夜亥初往凱撒利亞去；也要預備牲口叫保羅騎上，護送到巡撫腓力斯那裏去。」

使徒知道了，就逃往呂高尼的路司得、特庇兩個城和周圍地方去，在那裏傳福音。
