He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners.It contained all kinds of four- footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds.Then a voice told him,“ Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”“ Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied.“ I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”The voice spoke to him a second time,“ Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon’s house was and stopped at the gate. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written:“ How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (niv)

And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia— your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, (niv)

One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said,“ Cornelius!” (niv)

“‘ In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. (niv)

And when I was with you and needed something, I was not a burden to anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied what I needed. I have kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so. (niv)

For when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn— conflicts on the outside, fears within. (niv)

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision:“ Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.” (niv)

where he stayed three months. Because some Jews had plotted against him just as he was about to sail for Syria, he decided to go back through Macedonia. (niv)

I must go on boasting. Although there is nothing to be gained, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord.I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know— God knows.And I know that this man— whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows—was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell. When the uproar had ended, Paul sent for the disciples and, after encouraging them, said goodbye and set out for Macedonia. (niv)

“ I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was.I looked into it and saw four- footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles and birds.Then I heard a voice telling me,‘ Get up, Peter. Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’“ The voice spoke from heaven a second time,‘ Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.’This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again.“ Right then three men who had been sent to me from Caesarea stopped at the house where I was staying.The Spirit told me to have no hesitation about going with them. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s house.He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say,‘ Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter.He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.’ (niv)

Cornelius answered:“ Three days ago I was in my house praying at this hour, at three in the afternoon. Suddenly a man in shining clothes stood before me (niv)

Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, who lives by the sea.’So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.” (niv)

Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him,“ Please come at once!” (niv)

And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, (niv)

Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip,“ Go south to the road— the desert road— that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.”So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake( which means“ queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship,and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet.The Spirit told Philip,“ Go to that chariot and stay near it.”Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet.“ Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.“ How can I,” he said,“ unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. (niv)

And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. (niv)

For I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting about it to the Macedonians, telling them that since last year you in Achaia were ready to give; and your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action. (niv)

or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. (niv)
