Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said,“ The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses.”

有幾個人從猶太下來，教訓弟兄們說：『你們若不按着摩西的規矩受割禮，就不能得救。』

論割禮、我是第八天受的；我屬於以色列族、便雅憫的支派；是希伯來人所生的希伯來人；按律法說呢、我是法利賽人；按熱心說呢、我逼迫教會；按律法上的義說呢、我則無可責備。但從前於我為贏得的、這一切、我為基督的緣故都看做虧損了。不但如此，為了要得認識我主基督耶穌——這種認識之至寶，我竟將萬事都看做虧損了；為了他，我已經虧損了一切，看做糞土，為要贏得基督，

我們既聽說我們中間有幾個人用言論去攪亂你們，撤壞你們的心；其實我們並沒有訓諭他們；

基督釋放了我們得自主了。所以你們要站穩，別再被奴役之軛纏住了。請注意，我保羅告訴你們，你們若受割禮，基督就於你們無益了。我再指着每一個受割禮的人確實地說，他是負債該行全律法的。

從起頭他們早就認識了我；他們知道（如果他們肯作見證的話）、我做法利賽人、是怎樣按着我們熱心宗教最嚴緊的派別而生活的。如今我站着受審判、是因為指望上帝向我們祖宗所發的應許。

我們查出這個人簡直是瘟疫，在普天下眾猶太人中攪動亂事，又是拿撒勒派的一個頭目。

他們聽見了，就將榮耀歸與上帝，對保羅說：『老哥，你看猶太人中信的有多少萬，都是熱心於律法的人；
