有几个从犹太下来的人教导弟兄们说：“你们若不照着摩西的规条接受割礼，就不能得救。”

我出生后第八天就受了割礼，我是以色列人，属于便雅悯支派，是地地道道的希伯来人。论守律法，我是法利赛人；论热心，我曾经迫害教会；论律法要求的义，我是无可指责的。但是为了基督，我从前以为有价值的，现在认为毫无价值。不但如此，我看万事都毫无价值，因为认识我主基督耶稣最宝贵。我为祂失去了一切，我把失去的一切视为垃圾，好得到基督，

“听说有几个人从我们这里去了你们那里，教导你们必须接受割礼并遵守摩西的律法。他们的言论使你们大感困惑。其实我们从来没有授权他们这样做。

基督释放了我们，是要我们得自由。所以，要站稳了，不要再被奴仆的轭辖制。听着！我保罗郑重地告诉你们，如果你们接受割礼，基督对你们就毫无益处。我再次警告所有接受割礼的人，他们必须遵守全部的律法。

他们认识我很久了，如果他们肯作证的话，他们可以证明我从小就属于犹太教中最严格的法利赛派。现在我站在这里受审，是因为我盼望上帝给我们祖先的应许。

我们发现这个人惹事生非，到处煽动犹太人闹事。他是拿撒勒教派的一个头目，

大家听了，都同声赞美上帝，又对保罗说：“弟兄，你知道数以万计的犹太人信了主，他们都严守律法。
