他們既被聖靈差出，就下西流基，從那裏開航往居比路。在撒拉米的時候、他們在猶太人各會堂裏傳布上帝之道；也有約翰當差事。他們走遍全島、直到帕弗，卻遇見了一個做術士的人，做假神言人的猶太人、名叫巴耶穌。他常和通達人、院省長士求保羅、在一起。這個人將巴拿巴和掃羅請來，切求要聽上帝之道。術士以呂馬（他的名字翻譯出來是行法術的意思）反對使徒，想法子要扭轉院省長的心，使他不歸於這信仰。但是掃羅、也就是保羅、被聖靈充滿着、定睛看他，說：『哦，你這充滿一切詭詐、一切匪行、魔鬼的兒子、一切正義的仇敵啊，你使主正直的路偏差、還不停止麼？如今你看，主的手加在你身上了、你必瞎眼，暫時看不見日光。』立時就有蒙霧和黑暗落在他身上；他走來走去，求人拉着手帶着。當下院省長看見所經過的事就信，就因主的教訓而驚駭。

但他們中間卻有幾個居比路和古利奈的人、這些人到了安提阿，也對希利尼人講論，將主耶穌這福音傳出來。

當這些日子、門徒一直地加多，卻有說希利尼話的猶太人唧唧咕咕地向說希伯來土話的人埋怨，說使徒們在每日的供應上忽略了他們的寡婦。

在保羅巴拿巴與他們之間、既起了不小的紛爭與辯論，大家就派保羅巴拿巴跟他們中間另幾個人、為了這個問題上耶路撒冷去見使徒和長老。

我們從那裏開船，因為風不順，便貼着居比路的背風岸航行；

我看一切「圓滿」盡都有限；惟獨你的誡命極其廣闊。

因為他們使摩西的心靈受了苦惱，以致他嘴裏說出冒失的話。
