You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell.

但是要寫信吩咐他們禁戒偶像所玷污的東西、血和勒死的牲畜，禁戒淫亂。

至於信主的外邦人，我們已經根據我們的決議寫信，叫他們要禁戒偶像所玷污的東西、血和勒死的牲畜，禁戒淫亂。」

你們看那按肉體是以色列人的，那些吃祭物的人豈不是與祭壇有份嗎？那麼，我怎麼說呢？是說祭偶像之物算得了甚麼嗎？或說偶像算得了甚麼嗎？不，我是說，他們所獻的祭是祭鬼，不是祭上帝；我不願意你們與鬼來往。

然而，有幾件事我要責備你，就是在你那裏有人服從了巴蘭的教訓；這巴蘭曾教唆巴勒將絆腳石放在以色列人面前，使他們吃祭過偶像之物，並且犯淫亂。

然而，有一件事我要責備你，就是你容忍那自稱是先知的婦人耶洗別教唆我的僕人，引誘他們犯淫亂，吃祭過偶像之物。

末了，弟兄們，願你們喜樂。要追求完全；要接受鼓勵；要同心合意；要彼此和睦。如此，慈愛和平的上帝必與你們同在。

「因一切動物的生命，牠的血就是牠的生命。所以我對以色列人說：無論甚麼動物的血，你們都不可吃，因為一切動物的生命就是牠的血。凡吃血的必被剪除。

不可因食物毀壞上帝的工作。一切都是潔淨的，但有人因食物使人跌倒，這在他就是惡了。無論是吃肉是喝酒，是甚麼別的事，使弟兄跌倒，一概不做，才是善的。

在上帝－我們的父面前，清潔沒有玷污的虔誠就是看顧在患難中的孤兒寡婦，並且保守自己不沾染世俗。

我憑着主耶穌確知深信，凡物本來沒有不潔淨的，除非人以為不潔淨的，在他就不潔淨了。你若因食物使弟兄憂愁，就不是按着愛心行事。基督已經為他死，你不可因你的食物使他敗壞。

不可急於給人行按手禮；也不可在別人的罪上有份，要保守自己純潔。

願那能保守你們不失腳，使你們無瑕無疵、歡歡喜喜站在他榮耀之前的、

我在你們那裏有缺乏的時候，並沒有連累你們一個人，因為我所缺乏的，那些從馬其頓來的弟兄都補足了。我向來凡事謹慎，將來也必謹慎，總不要連累你們。

親愛的，至於你們，要在至聖的真道上造就自己，藉着聖靈禱告，保守自己常在上帝的愛中，仰望我們主耶穌基督的憐憫，進入永生。

就辭別他們，說：「上帝若許可，我還要回到你們這裏來。」於是他上船離開以弗所。

又有一人說：「主啊，我要跟從你，但容許我先去辭別我家裏的人。」

後來有人把要害他的計謀告訴我，我立刻把他解到你那裏去，又命令告他的人在你面前告他。」
