只要寫信，吩咐他們禁戒偶像的污穢和姦淫，並勒死的牲畜和血。

至於信主的外邦人，我們已經寫信擬定，叫他們謹忌那祭偶像之物，和血，並勒死的牲畜，與姦淫。」

你們看屬肉體的以色列人，那吃祭物的豈不是在祭壇上有分嗎？我是怎麼說呢？豈是說祭偶像之物算得甚麼呢？或說偶像算得甚麼呢？我乃是說，外邦人所獻的祭是祭鬼，不是祭神。我不願意你們與鬼相交。

然而，有幾件事我要責備你：因為在你那裏有人服從了巴蘭的教訓；這巴蘭曾教導巴勒將絆腳石放在以色列人面前，叫他們吃祭偶像之物，行姦淫的事。

然而，有一件事我要責備你，就是你容讓那自稱是先知的婦人耶洗別教導我的僕人，引誘他們行姦淫，吃祭偶像之物。

還有末了的話：願弟兄們都喜樂。要作完全人；要受安慰；要同心合意；要彼此和睦。如此，仁愛和平的神必常與你們同在。

「論到一切活物的生命，就在血中。所以我對以色列人說：無論甚麼活物的血，你們都不可吃，因為一切活物的血就是他的生命。凡吃了血的，必被剪除。

不可因食物毀壞神的工程。凡物固然潔淨，但有人因食物叫人跌倒，就是他的罪了。無論是吃肉是喝酒，是甚麼別的事，叫弟兄跌倒，一概不做才好。

在神我們的父面前，那清潔沒有玷污的虔誠，就是看顧在患難中的孤兒寡婦，並且保守自己不沾染世俗。

我憑着主耶穌確知深信，凡物本來沒有不潔淨的；惟獨人以為不潔淨的，在他就不潔淨了。你若因食物叫弟兄憂愁，就不是按着愛人的道理行。基督已經替他死，你不可因你的食物叫他敗壞。

給人行按手的禮，不可急促；不要在別人的罪上有分，要保守自己清潔。

那能保守你們不失腳、叫你們無瑕無疵、歡歡喜喜站在他榮耀之前的我們的救主－獨一的神，

我在你們那裏缺乏的時候，並沒有累着你們一個人；因我所缺乏的，那從馬其頓來的弟兄們都補足了。我向來凡事謹守，後來也必謹守，總不至於累着你們。

親愛的弟兄啊，你們卻要在至聖的真道上造就自己，在聖靈裏禱告，保守自己常在神的愛中，仰望我們主耶穌基督的憐憫，直到永生。

就辭別他們，說：「神若許我，我還要回到你們這裏」；於是開船離了以弗所。

又有一人說：「主，我要跟從你，但容我先去辭別我家裏的人。」

後來有人把要害他的計謀告訴我，我就立時解他到你那裏去，又吩咐告他的人在你面前告他。」
