不过要写信给他们：要远避偶像的污秽，远避淫乱、勒死的动物和血。

至于已经相信的外邦人，我们照着决定写了信，要他们远避祭过偶像的食物，远避血和勒死的动物，远避淫乱。”

你们看世上的以色列人吧，难道那些吃祭物的人不是与祭坛有份的人吗？那么，我怎么说呢？难道说祭过偶像的食物算得了什么吗？或说，偶像算得了什么吗？不，我是说，外邦人所献的祭是献给鬼魔的，不是献给神的；而我不愿意你们成为与鬼魔有份的人。

然而，我有几件事要责备你，就是在你那里有些人持守巴兰的教导。这巴兰曾教唆巴勒把绊脚石放在以色列子民面前，就是使他们吃祭过偶像的食物，并且行淫乱。

然而，我有事要责备你，就是你容忍那自称是女先知的妇人耶洗别，教唆并迷惑我的奴仆们行淫乱、吃祭过偶像的食物。

最后，弟兄们，你们要欢喜！愿你们得以完全，愿你们得到安慰！你们要同心合意，要彼此和睦。这样，慈爱与平安的神就会与你们同在。

不要因食物的缘故破坏神的工作。一切固然都是洁净的，但如果有人因吃东西使人绊脚，这就是恶事了。不在吃肉、喝酒、或其他事上使你的弟兄绊倒，这才是好的。

在父神看来，纯洁而没有玷污的虔诚是这样的：照顾患难中的孤儿寡妇，并且保守自己不受世界的玷污。

我知道，并且在主耶稣里深信：没有一样东西本身是不洁净的。只是，如果有人认为什么是不洁净的，对他来说，那就是不洁净的。如果因食物的缘故使你的弟兄忧伤，你就不再是凭着爱行事了。基督已经替他死了，不可因你的食物毁了他。

不要轻易给人按手，也不要在别人的罪孽上有份，要保守自己纯洁。

那位独一的神能够保守你们不失足，并且使你们毫无瑕疵、怀着喜乐站在他的荣耀面前；

我在你们那里有缺乏的时候，也没有成为任何人的负担，因为从马其顿省来的弟兄们补足了我的缺乏。在一切事上我都留意，不让自己成为你们的负担，将来也会留意。

至于你们蒙爱的人哪，要在你们至圣的信仰上造就自己，藉着圣灵祷告，保守自己在神的爱中，仰望我们主耶稣基督的怜悯，进入永恒的生命。

向他们告别，说：“如果神愿意，我会再回到你们这里来。”就从以弗所起航了。

另有一个人说：“主啊，我要跟从你，但是请准许我先向我家里的人告别。”

后来我被告知将有一个针对这个人的阴谋，就立即把他解送到您那里去，又吩咐原告们到您面前去告他。”
