Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing.

Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the believers.

With the help of Silas, whom I regard as a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, encouraging you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it.

but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the believers to the grace of the Lord.

The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas.

The believers immediately sent Paul to the coast, but Silas and Timothy stayed at Berea.

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah.

So they nominated two men: Joseph called Barsabbas( also known as Justus) and Matthias.

When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities.

Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a large number of God-fearing Greeks and quite a few prominent women.

As soon as it was night, the believers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.

With them they sent the following letter: The apostles and elders, your brothers, To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia: Greetings.

All the people took note and were pleased; indeed, everything the king did pleased them.

When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria.

and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.

The plan seemed right both to the king and to the whole assembly.

Also in Judah the hand of God was on the people to give them unity of mind to carry out what the king and his officials had ordered, following the word of the Lord.

So we all agreed to choose some men and send them to you with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul—

Certain people came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers:“ Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved.”This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers, to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question.

News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.
