藉著我看為忠心的弟兄賽拉斯，我簡要地寫了這封信，勸勉你們，並且證明這是神真實的恩典。你們要在這恩典中站立得住。

保羅卻選了賽拉斯。弟兄們把保羅交託於主的恩典之後，他就出發了。

獄卒叫人拿了燈來，就衝進去，戰戰兢兢地俯伏在保羅和賽拉斯面前，

於是弟兄們立刻送保羅往海邊去，賽拉斯和提摩太仍然留在庇里亞。

約在半夜，保羅和賽拉斯禱告、唱詩讚美神，其他的囚犯們都側耳聽著。

賽拉斯和提摩太從馬其頓省下來的時候，保羅被這福音所催逼，向猶太人鄭重地見證耶穌是基督。

於是他們推舉了兩個人，就是那叫巴撒巴，又被稱為猶斯托的約瑟，還有馬提亞。

女僕的主人們看見他們的生意沒有希望了，就揪住保羅和賽拉斯，把他們拖到街市上去見首領們。

保羅、賽拉斯、提摩太，致那在神我們的父和主耶穌基督裡的帖撒羅尼迦人的教會：

他們當中有些人被說服了，就跟從了保羅和賽拉斯；不但有一大群敬神的希臘人，還有不少顯要的婦女。

弟兄們立刻連夜送保羅和賽拉斯往庇里亞城去。兩個人一到，就進了猶太人的會堂。

他們帶去的信這樣寫著：「做使徒的和年長的弟兄們，問候安提阿、敘利亞省和奇里乞亞省的外邦弟兄們。

人們都認同了，這在他們眼中看為好，正如王所做的每一件事在他們眼中都看為好。

在耶路撒冷的使徒們聽說撒馬利亞人接受了神的話語，就派彼得和約翰到他們那裡去。

這樣，我們將可專心於禱告和福音的服事工作。」這話使全體會眾都喜悅，於是選出了司提反——他是一個充滿信仰和聖靈的人，還有腓利、普羅克羅、尼卡諾、提門、帕米納，以及入猶太教的安提阿人尼古拉斯。

我們已達成了一致，認為應該揀選幾個人，派他們與我們親愛的巴拿巴和保羅一起到你們那裡去。

有一些人從猶太下來，教導弟兄們說：「你們如果不按摩西的規矩受割禮，就不能得救。」保羅、巴拿巴與他們發生了不小的爭執和辯論，他們就指定保羅、巴拿巴和其中的另一些人為這爭議的問題，上耶路撒冷到使徒們和長老們那裡去。

這消息傳到在耶路撒冷的教會，他們就派巴拿巴到安提阿去。
