狱吏叫人拿了灯来，就冲进去，战战兢兢地俯伏在保罗和西拉面前，

弟兄们立刻把保罗送到海边去；西拉和提摩太仍然留在比里亚。

约在半夜，保罗和西拉祈祷歌颂神，囚犯们都侧耳听着。

西拉和提摩太从马其顿下来的时候，保罗就专心传扬主的道，向犹太人极力证明耶稣是基督。

于是他们提出两个人：约瑟（号称巴撒巴，又名犹士都）和马提亚，

她的主人们看见发财的希望完了，就揪住保罗和西拉，拉到市中心去见官长，

保罗、西拉和提摩太，写信给帖撒罗尼迦、在我们的父神和主耶稣基督里的教会。

他们中间有人给说服了，就附从了保罗和西拉；还有一大群虔诚的希腊人，和不少显要的妇女。

弟兄们当夜立刻送保罗和西拉往比里亚去。二人到了，就进入犹太人的会堂。

于是写信给他们带去，信上说：“使徒和作长老的弟兄们，向安提阿、叙利亚、基利家的外族众弟兄问安。

众人看见了，就都喜悦。王所作的一切，他们都很喜悦。

在耶路撒冷的使徒，听见撒玛利亚居民领受了神的道，就差派彼得和约翰到他们那里去。

至于我们，我们要专心祈祷、传道。”这个意见全会众都很满意，于是选出司提反，他是一位满有信心和圣灵的人，还有腓利、伯罗哥罗、尼加挪、提门、巴米拿，以及归信犹太教的安提阿人尼哥拉，

王和全体会众都认为这计划很好，

神的能力也帮助犹大人，使他们一心遵行王和众领袖奉耶和华的命令发出的吩咐。

因此，我们一致同意，选派一些人跟我们亲爱的巴拿巴和保罗去见你们，

有几个人从犹太下来，教导弟兄们说：“你们若不照摩西的规例受割礼，就不能得救。”保罗和巴拿巴，与他们大大地争执辩论起来。大家就派保罗、巴拿巴和他们中间的几个人，为这个问题上耶路撒冷去见使徒和长老。

这事传到耶路撒冷教会的耳中，他们就派巴拿巴到安提阿去。
