Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

Here is what we should write to them. They must not eat food that has been made impure by being offered to statues of gods. They must not commit sexual sins. They must not eat the meat of animals that have been choked to death. And they must not drink blood.

Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but love edifieth.

lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they play the harlot after their gods, and sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee and thou eat of his sacrifice;and thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters play the harlot after their gods, and make thy sons play the harlot after their gods.

Only thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it out upon the ground as water.

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

lest again when I come my God should humble me before you, and I should mourn for many of them that have sinned heretofore, and repented not of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they committed.

The bread which we break, is it not a communion of the body of Christ?seeing that we, who are many, are one bread, one body: for we all partake of the one bread.Behold Israel after the flesh: have not they that eat the sacrifices communion with the altar?What say I then? that a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have communion with demons.Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?All things are lawful; but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful; but not all things edify.Let no man seek his own, but each his neighbor’s good.Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, eat, asking no question for conscience’ sake;for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.If one of them that believe not biddeth you to a feast, and ye are disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience’ sake.But if any man say unto you, This hath been offered in sacrifice, eat not, for his sake that showed it, and for conscience’ sake:

Let marriage be had in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving:for it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer.

Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou shalt not eat the life with the flesh.Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it out upon the earth as water.Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah.

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye abstain from fornication;

Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall bring to nought both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body:

But, because of fornications, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king’s dainties, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

And the voice which I heard from heaven, I heard it again speaking with me, and saying, Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel that standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
