But Paul and Barnabas didn’t agree with this. They argued strongly with them. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed to go up to Jerusalem. Some other believers were chosen to go with them. They were told to ask the apostles and elders about this question.

And after Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and debate with them, Paul and Barnabas and some of the others were appointed to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and the elders about this question.

Paul and Barnabas disagreed with them, arguing vehemently. Finally, the church decided to send Paul and Barnabas to Jerusalem, accompanied by some local believers, to talk to the apostles and elders about this question.

当时，使徒、长老和全教会都认为好，就从他们中间选出人来，差他们和保罗、巴拿巴一同到安提阿去，所选的就是别号巴撒巴的犹大和西拉，他们是弟兄中的领袖。于是写信给他们带去，信上说：“使徒和作长老的弟兄们，向安提阿、叙利亚、基利家的外族众弟兄问安。

使徒和长老聚集在一起，商议这件事。经过了很多的辩论，彼得站起来对他们说：“弟兄们，你们知道，前些时候神在你们中间拣选了我，使外族人从我的口中听见福音的道，而且信了。

到了耶路撒冷，他们受到教会、使徒和长老的接待，就报告神同他们一起所行的一切。

他们就这样行了，由巴拿巴和扫罗经手送到长老们那里。

过了十四年，我再次上耶路撒冷去，这次是和巴拿巴，并且带着提多一同去的。我是顺从启示去的；在那里我对他们说明我在外族人中所传的福音，私下讲了给那些有名望的人听，免得我从前或现在都白跑了。

我虽然自由，不受任何人管辖，但我自愿成为众人的奴仆，为的是要多得一些人。对犹太人，我就作犹太人，为了要得着犹太人；对律法以下的人，虽然我自己不在律法之下，还是作了律法以下的人，为了要得着律法以下的人。对没有律法的人，我就作了没有律法的人，其实我不是在神的律法以外，而是在基督的律法之下，为了要得着没有律法的人。对软弱的人，我就成了软弱的人，为了要得着软弱的人。对怎么样的人，我就作怎么样的人；无论如何，总要救一些人。我所作的一切，都是为了福音的缘故，好让我与别人同享福音的好处。

我很惊奇，你们这么快就离开了藉着基督的恩呼召你们的那一位，去归向别的福音。其实那并不是另一个福音，只是有些搅扰你们的人，想把基督的福音改变。但无论是我们，或是从天上来的使者，如果传给你们的和我们以前传给你们的福音不同，他就该受咒诅。我们已经说过，现在我要再说，如果有人传给你们的和你们以前所领受的福音不同，他就该受咒诅。我现在是要得人的欢心，还是要得神的欢心呢？难道我想讨人欢喜吗？如果我仍然要讨人欢喜，就不是基督的仆人了。

我在基督里虽然可以放胆吩咐你作应作的事，然而像我这上了年纪的保罗，现在又是为基督耶稣被囚禁的，宁愿凭着爱心请求你，

他们经过各城，把耶路撒冷的使徒和长老所定的规条，交给门徒遵守。

我们派了犹大和西拉一同去，他们也会亲口述说这些事。

圣灵吩咐我跟他们一起去，一点也不要疑惑。这六位弟兄也跟我一起去，我们就进了那人的家。

你若是这样行，神也这样吩咐你，你就能站立得住，所有的人民也都能平平安安地归回自己的地方。”

但我认为自己没有一点比不上那些“超等使徒”；

因此，我们一致同意，选派一些人跟我们亲爱的巴拿巴和保罗去见你们，

彼得就请他们进去，留他们住下。第二天，彼得动身跟他们一同去，另有约帕的几位弟兄同行。

亲爱的，尽管我曾经迫切地想写信给你们，论到我们共享的救恩；现在我更觉得必须写信劝勉你们，要竭力维护从前一次就全交给了圣徒的信仰，

第二天，保罗和我们一同去见雅各，长老们也都在座。

对这些人，我们一点也没有让步妥协，为了要使福音的真理存留在你们中间。
