我雖然是自由之身，不受任何人支配，但我甘願成為眾人的奴僕，為了要得到更多的人。面對猶太人我就做猶太人，為了要贏得猶太人。面對守律法的人，我這不受律法束縛的人就守律法，為了要贏得守律法的人。面對沒有律法的人，我就像個沒有律法的人，為了要贏得沒有律法的人。其實我並非在上帝的律法之外，我是在基督的律法之下。面對軟弱的人我就做軟弱的人，為了要得軟弱的人。面對什麼人，我就做什麼人，為了要盡可能地救一些人。我做的一切都是為了福音的緣故，為了要與人分享福音的祝福。

我很驚訝，你們竟然那麼快就背棄了藉著基督的恩典呼召你們的上帝，去追隨別的福音！其實那並不是福音，只是某些人擾亂你們的信仰，想篡改基督的福音。即便是我們或天使，若另傳福音給你們，與我們以前傳給你們的福音相悖，也該受咒詛。我們已經說過，現在我再說一次：如果有人向你們傳別的福音，跟你們以前接受的不同，那人該受咒詛。我現在是要贏得人的贊同嗎？還是要贏得上帝的贊同？難道我是要討好人嗎？如果我仍舊要討好人，我就不是基督的奴僕了。

因此，我儘管可以奉基督的名吩咐你去做當做的事，然而我這上了年紀又為基督耶穌的緣故被囚禁的保羅寧願憑愛心求你，

他們走遍各城，把耶路撒冷的使徒和長老所定下的規條教導當地的門徒遵守。

我們選派猶大和西拉兩位代表跟他們一起去，向你們報告我們的決定。

聖靈吩咐我跟他們同去，不要猶豫。就這樣，我和這六位弟兄一同到了哥尼流家。

如果你這樣做，並且上帝也這樣吩咐你，你就能承受得住，百姓也可以平安地回家。」

我想，我一點也不比那些「超級使徒」差。

所以我們一致決定選派代表，隨我們敬愛的巴拿巴和保羅去你們那裡。

彼得就留他們住了一夜。第二天，彼得和他們以及幾個約帕的弟兄一同出發了。

親愛的弟兄姊妹，我一直迫切地想寫信跟你們談談我們所共享的救恩，但現在我覺得有必要寫信勸勉你們竭力護衛一次就完整地交給聖徒的真道。
