到了天亮，猶太人同謀起誓，說「若不先殺保羅就不吃不喝」。參與這陰謀的有四十多人。他們來見祭司長和長老，說：「我們已經發了重誓，若不先殺保羅就甚麼也不吃。現在你們和議會要通知千夫長，叫他把保羅帶到你們這裏來，假裝要詳細調查他的事；我們已經預備好，在他來到這裏以前就殺掉他。」保羅的外甥聽見他們設下埋伏，就來到營樓裏告訴保羅。保羅請一個百夫長來，說：「你領這青年去見千夫長，他有事告訴他。」於是百夫長把他領去見千夫長，說：「被囚的保羅請我到他那裏，求我領這青年來見你；他有事告訴你。」千夫長就拉着他的手，走到一旁，私下問他：「你有甚麼事告訴我呢？」他說：「猶太人已經約定，要求你明天把保羅帶到議會去，假裝要詳細查問他的事。你切不要隨從他們，因為他們有四十多人埋伏，已經起誓，若不先殺掉保羅就不吃不喝。現在都預備好了，只等你的允准。」於是千夫長打發那青年走，囑咐他：「不要告訴人，你已將這些事報告我了。」

但帖撒羅尼迦的猶太人知道保羅又在庇哩亞傳上帝的道，就往那裏去，煽動挑撥羣眾。於是，弟兄們立刻送保羅到海邊去，西拉和提摩太卻仍留在庇哩亞。

亞蘭王與以色列作戰，他和臣僕商議說：「我要在某處某處安營。」神人派人到以色列王那裏，說：「你要小心，不要從某處經過，因為亞蘭人下到那裏去了。」以色列王派人到神人告訴他的地方去。神人警告他，他就在那裏有所防備，不止一兩次。亞蘭王因這事心裏氣憤，召了臣僕來，對他們說：「我們當中有誰幫助以色列王，你們不告訴我嗎？」有一個臣僕說：「不，我主，我王！只有以色列中的先知以利沙，把王在臥房所說的話告訴以色列王。」

後來，保羅來到特庇，又到路司得。在那裏有一個門徒，名叫提摩太，是信主的猶太婦人的兒子，他父親卻是希臘人。路司得和以哥念的弟兄都稱讚他。

但他們的計謀被掃羅知道了。他們晝夜在城門守候着要殺他。
