到了天亮，犹太人同谋起誓，说“若不先杀保罗就不吃不喝”。参与这阴谋的有四十多人。他们来见祭司长和长老，说：“我们已经发了重誓，若不先杀保罗就什么也不吃。现在你们和议会要通知千夫长，叫他把保罗带到你们这里来，假装要详细调查他的事；我们已经预备好，在他来到这里以前就杀掉他。”保罗的外甥听见他们设下埋伏，就来到营楼里告诉保罗。保罗请一个百夫长来，说：“你领这青年去见千夫长，他有事告诉他。”于是百夫长把他领去见千夫长，说：“被囚的保罗请我到他那里，求我领这青年来见你；他有事告诉你。”千夫长就拉着他的手，走到一旁，私下问他：“你有什么事告诉我呢？”他说：“犹太人已经约定，要求你明天把保罗带到议会去，假装要详细查问他的事。你切不要随从他们，因为他们有四十多人埋伏，已经起誓，若不先杀掉保罗就不吃不喝。现在都预备好了，只等你的允准。”于是千夫长打发那青年走，嘱咐他：“不要告诉人，你已将这些事报告我了。”

但帖撒罗尼迦的犹太人知道保罗又在庇哩亚传上帝的道，就往那里去，煽动挑拨群众。于是，弟兄们立刻送保罗到海边去，西拉和提摩太却仍留在庇哩亚。

亚兰王与以色列作战，他和臣仆商议说：“我要在某处某处安营。”神人派人到以色列王那里，说：“你要小心，不要从某处经过，因为亚兰人下到那里去了。”以色列王派人到神人告诉他的地方去。神人警告他，他就在那里有所防备，不止一两次。亚兰王因这事心里气愤，召了臣仆来，对他们说：“我们当中有谁帮助以色列王，你们不告诉我吗？”有一个臣仆说：“不，我主，我王！只有以色列中的先知以利沙，把王在卧房所说的话告诉以色列王。”

后来，保罗来到特庇，又到路司得。在那里有一个门徒，名叫提摩太，是信主的犹太妇人的儿子，他父亲却是希腊人。路司得和以哥念的弟兄都称赞他。

但他们的计谋被扫罗知道了。他们昼夜在城门守候着要杀他。
