夜間，主在異象中對保羅說：「不要怕，只管講，不要沉默，有我與你同在，沒有人會下手害你，因為在這城裏有許多屬我的人。」保羅在那裏住了一年六個月，將神的道教導他們。

不過我要仍舊住在以弗所，直到五旬節，因為有又寬大又有效的門為我開了，雖然反對的人也多。

我們是這些事的見證人；神賜給順從的人的聖靈也為這些事作見證。」

主藉使徒的手在民間行了許多神蹟奇事；他們都同心合意地聚集在所羅門的廊下。其餘的人沒有一個敢接近他們，百姓卻尊重他們。信主的人越發增添，連男帶女都很多，

「以色列人哪，你們要聽我這些話：拿撒勒人耶穌就是神以異能、奇事、神蹟向你們證明出來的人，這些事是神藉着他在你們中間施行，正如你們自己知道的。

耶穌對他說：「若不看見神蹟奇事，你們總是不信。」
