爾曹恆偕我於諸試中、我以國封爾、如我父封我然、

未有不於今時獲百倍、即屋宇、兄弟、姊妹、母子、田疇、兼之窘逐、而來世獲永生也、

我約翰、爾曹之兄弟、與爾共與耶穌之難與國與忍者、為上帝之道及耶穌之證、昔在一島曰拔摩、

儻爾一目陷爾、則去之、寧一目而進上帝國、勝有二目投於地獄、

我又語汝、駝穿針孔、較富者入上帝國猶易也、

如父愛我、我亦愛爾、爾宜恆在我之愛中、爾守我誡、則恆在我愛、如我守父誡、而恆在其愛矣、

遂謂信己之猶太人曰、爾若恆於我道、則誠我徒也、爾將識真理、而真理將釋爾、

上帝之道益興、門徒之數極盛於耶路撒冷、祭司之順服斯道者亦眾、○

耶穌曰、我誠語汝、人非由水與聖神而生、不能入上帝國、

我將示之、彼必為我名而受多苦、

愛友乎、若遇火煉之試、勿以為不測而奇之、爾既與基督之苦、當以為樂、俾於其榮顯著時、亦可歡欣踴躍、若為基督名見詬、則福矣、蓋上帝有榮之神止於爾、爾中勿因兇殺、竊盜、惡行、妄預、而受苦、惟因為基督徒而受苦、則毋愧、乃緣此名歸榮上帝也、

兄弟將致兄弟於死、父之於子亦然、子將攻父母而死之、且爾以我名見憾於眾、惟終忍者得救也、

我以此語爾、免爾傾覆、人將逐爾出會、且時將至、殺爾者、自以為事上帝也、

愛友乎、我方以我儕共得之拯救、殷勤書於爾、遂不得已以書勸爾、為道力爭、即授於諸聖一次而已者、
