事為二人所覺、乃避之呂高尼、

葆樂經特鹿至路司得、有門徒名諦茂德者、猶太信婦之子、而其父則希臘籍也。

既得之、攜之安提阿、與會眾相聚者、達一年之久、訓迪多人、門徒之被稱為「基督信徒」者、自安提阿始。

有少年名猶推古者、坐檻上、倦而酣睡。葆樂猶滔滔不絕、少年睡熟、自三樓墜下。扶之起、則已死矣！葆樂下樓、伏而撫之、謂眾曰：『勿憂、其命尚存。』葆樂復上、析餅而食、續談久之、黎明始去。有人挈少年至、依然無恙、莫不歡慰。

然吾人之所以被處於絕境、以至於自分必死者、乃欲吾人勿恃本身之力量、而恃起死回生之天主耳。天主既脫吾儕於萬死、且至今猶時時予以保障、故吾儕將一切希望託付於主、深信其必保障到底。

紛擾既息、葆樂召集信徒、勸勉而別；赴馬其頓、

遂與眾徒盤桓多日。

雖似無聞、而實則闇然日章也；雖似將死、而實則生氣蓬勃也；雖似受刑、而實則真我無恙也；

伯鐸祿以手示意、誡毋喧；遂縷述主為其脫獄事、並囑告之雅谷伯及諸兄弟。遂去而之他。

二人作證既畢、將有猛獸出自無底深壑與之戰、勝而殺之、屍暴大邑通衢、斯邑可譬稱為索多瑪與埃及、即二證所奉之主、亦曾被釘死於此。二證既死、天下萬國之人紛來觀屍、凡三日有半；且不許安葬於墓。當是時、世人咸將手舞足蹈以慶其亡、各備禮物、互相忻賀；蓋二先知曾痛懲斯世之人也。越三日有半、天主之生氣入其屍身、二證復起、見者莫不駭愕。二證聞大音自天呼之曰：「升此！」即飄然乘雲升天、諸敵皆目擊。

勸眾堅心、信道勿移、曰：『吾人欲入天主之國、必須經歷多難。』
