保羅和巴拿巴得知後，就逃往呂高尼的路司得和特庇二城並周圍的地區，

保羅來到特庇，然後又到路司得。那裡有個門徒名叫提摩太，母親是信主的猶太人，父親是希臘人。

找到後，便帶他回安提阿。他們在教會待了一年之久，教導了許多人。門徒被稱為「基督徒」就是從安提阿開始的。

有個名叫猶推古的青年坐在窗臺上聽道。保羅講了許久，猶推古不勝困倦睡著了，竟從三樓掉了下去。別人將他抱起來時，他已經死了。保羅下去伏在他身上，抱著他對眾人說：「不要驚慌，他還活著！」保羅說完就回到樓上，與大家一同掰餅、用餐，又談了很久，直到天亮才離去。大家非常欣慰地把活過來的猶推古送回了家。

我們心裡覺得必死無疑，這使我們不倚靠自己，只倚靠使死人復活的上帝。祂曾救我們脫離死亡的威脅，將來還要救我們。我們深信祂必繼續救我們。

這場風波平息後，保羅召集眾門徒勉勵一番後，便辭別他們去了馬其頓。

之後，二人和門徒同住了很久。

二人離開監獄，來到呂底亞家中，見了弟兄姊妹，勸勉一番之後，便離開了那裡。

似乎默默無聞，卻是家喻戶曉；似乎快死了，看啊！我們卻仍然活著；受嚴刑拷打，卻沒有喪命；

彼得擺手示意他們安靜，然後把主怎樣領他出獄的經過告訴大家，又說：「把這事告訴雅各和其他弟兄姊妹。」交待完了，他便離開那裡，往其他地方去了。

當他們做完見證以後，從無底坑上來的獸要和他們交戰，並戰勝他們，把他們殺掉。他們便陳屍在大城的街上，這大城按寓意名叫所多瑪，又名埃及，是他們的主被釘在十字架上的地方。三天半之久，他們的屍體不得埋葬，各民族、各部落、各語言族群、各國家的人都觀看他們的屍體。地上萬民便興高采烈，互相送禮道賀，因為這兩位先知曾使地上的人受苦。三天半過後，上帝的生命之氣進入二人裡面，他們便站立起來。看見的人都害怕極了！接著天上有大聲音呼喚他們說：「上這裡來！」他們就在敵人的注視下駕雲升上天去。

堅固各地門徒的信心，鼓勵他們要持守信仰，並且說：「我們在進入上帝國的道路上必經歷許多苦難。」
