我聞此事、自裂裹衣與外袍、拔髮與鬚、抑鬱而坐、凡懍遵以色列天主之言者、俱因被擄而歸者所犯之罪來見我、我抑鬱而坐、至獻晚祭時、獻晚祭時、我起、憂心悄悄、衣袍撕裂、曲膝而跪、向主我之天主舉手祈禱、曰、

邑眾乃分、有從猶太人者、有從二使徒者、

我豈無權娶女弟為妻、攜之同行、如他使徒、及主之兄弟與磯法乎、抑我與巴拿巴、不得不作工乎、

王與其諸臣聽此諸言、竟不畏懼、亦不裂衣、

大祭司自裂其衣、曰、何用別證、

以色列王閱書畢、自裂其衣、對群臣曰、彼遣人至、欲我醫其癩、我豈為神、能使人死生乎、爾且思之、彼尋攻我之隙可知矣、
