那七日將完，從亞細亞來的猶太人看見保羅在殿裏，就聳動了眾人，下手拿他，

散會以後，猶太人和敬虔進猶太教的人多有跟從保羅、巴拿巴的。二人對他們講道，勸他們務要恆久在神的恩中。

亞瑪謝又對阿摩司說：「你這先見哪，要逃往猶大地去，在那裏糊口，在那裏說預言，

我親愛的弟兄們，請聽，神豈不是揀選了世上的貧窮人，叫他們在信上富足，並承受他所應許給那些愛他之人的國嗎？你們反倒羞辱貧窮人。那富足人豈不是欺壓你們、拉你們到公堂去嗎？

他們又聳動了百姓、長老，並文士，就忽然來捉拿他，把他帶到公會去，

那時，有虔誠的猶太人從天下各國來，住在耶路撒冷。

我可以證明，他們向神有熱心，但不是按着真知識；

從來沒有像亞哈的，因他自賣，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，受了王后耶洗別的聳動；

你們因耶和華言語戰兢的人當聽他的話：你們的弟兄－就是恨惡你們，因我名趕出你們的，曾說：願耶和華得榮耀，使我們得見你們的喜樂；但蒙羞的究竟是他們！

有人在這城裏逼迫你們，就逃到那城裏去。我實在告訴你們，以色列的城邑，你們還沒有走遍，人子就到了。

保羅卻說：「我們是羅馬人，並沒有定罪，他們就在眾人面前打了我們，又把我們下在監裏，現在要私下攆我們出去嗎？這是不行的。叫他們自己來領我們出去吧！」差役把這話回稟官長。官長聽見他們是羅馬人，就害怕了，於是來勸他們，領他們出來，請他們離開那城。

弟兄們哪，可見你們蒙召的，按着肉體有智慧的不多，有能力的不多，有尊貴的也不多。神卻揀選了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又揀選了世上軟弱的，叫那強壯的羞愧。神也揀選了世上卑賤的，被人厭惡的，以及那無有的，為要廢掉那有的，使一切有血氣的，在神面前一個也不能自誇。

眾人就央求耶穌離開他們的境界。

這猶太人殺了主耶穌和先知，又把我們趕出去。他們不得神的喜悅，且與眾人為敵，不許我們傳道給外邦人使外邦人得救，常常充滿自己的罪惡。神的忿怒臨在他們身上已經到了極處。

從這日起，耶路撒冷的教會大遭逼迫，除了使徒以外，門徒都分散在猶太和撒馬利亞各處。
