他們從別加往前走，到了彼西底的安提阿，在安息日進了會堂，就坐下來。

保羅和巴拿巴卻放膽說：“神的道，先講給你們聽，是應該的。但因為你們棄絕這道，斷定自己不配得永生，所以我們現在就轉向外族人去了。

他明白了之後，就到約翰（別名馬可）的母親馬利亞家裡去；有許多人聚集在那裡禱告。

隨即在各會堂傳講耶穌，說他是神的兒子。

於是在會堂裡，同猶太人和虔誠的人辯論；並且天天在市中心和所遇見的人辯論。

保羅和巴拿巴在以哥念照樣進猶太的會堂講道，結果一大群猶太人和希臘人都信了。

每逢安息日，保羅在會堂辯論，勸導猶太人和希臘人歸主。

一連三個月，保羅都到會堂裡去，放膽宣講，辯論神的國的事，勸導人。

約沙法說：“這裡不是有一位耶和華的先知嗎？我們可以託他求問耶和華。”以色列王的一位臣僕說：“這裡有沙法的兒子以利沙，他從前是服事以利亞的（“他從前是服事以利亞的”原文作“他從前倒水在以利亞手上”）。”

巴拿巴有意要帶別號馬可的約翰一同去，

以利沙就離開他回去了。他牽了一對牛來宰了，用套牛的器具把牛煮熟，就分給眾人，他們都吃了。然後以利沙就起來，跟隨以利亞，服事他。

保羅和西拉經過暗非波里、亞波羅尼亞，來到帖撒羅尼迦，在那裡有猶太人的會堂。保羅照他的習慣進去，一連三個安息日，根據聖經與他們辯論，講解證明基督必須受害，從死人中復活，說：“我所傳給你們的這位耶穌，就是基督。”

以利亞害怕，就起來，逃命去了。他到了猶大的別是巴，就把自己的僕人留在那裡。

但你們中間卻不要這樣；誰想在你們中間成為大的，就要作你們的僕役；

巴拿巴和掃羅完成了送交捐項的任務，就帶著名叫馬可的約翰，從耶路撒冷回來。

於是，摩西和他的侍從約書亞起來；摩西就上到神的山那裡去了。

只有路加在我這裡。你找到了馬可，就把他帶來，因為他在聖工上對我有益。
