保罗和巴拿巴却放胆说：“神的道，先讲给你们听，是应该的。但因为你们弃绝这道，断定自己不配得永生，所以我们现在就转向外族人去了。

他明白了之后，就到约翰（别名马可）的母亲马利亚家里去；有许多人聚集在那里祷告。

随即在各会堂传讲耶稣，说他是神的儿子。

于是在会堂里，同犹太人和虔诚的人辩论；并且天天在市中心和所遇见的人辩论。

保罗和巴拿巴在以哥念照样进犹太的会堂讲道，结果一大群犹太人和希腊人都信了。

每逢安息日，保罗在会堂辩论，劝导犹太人和希腊人归主。

一连三个月，保罗都到会堂里去，放胆宣讲，辩论神的国的事，劝导人。

约沙法说：“这里不是有一位耶和华的先知吗？我们可以托他求问耶和华。”以色列王的一位臣仆说：“这里有沙法的儿子以利沙，他从前是服事以利亚的（“他从前是服事以利亚的”原文作“他从前倒水在以利亚手上”）。”

巴拿巴有意要带别号马可的约翰一同去，

以利沙就离开他回去了。他牵了一对牛来宰了，用套牛的器具把牛煮熟，就分给众人，他们都吃了。然后以利沙就起来，跟随以利亚，服事他。

保罗和西拉经过暗非波里、亚波罗尼亚，来到帖撒罗尼迦，在那里有犹太人的会堂。保罗照他的习惯进去，一连三个安息日，根据圣经与他们辩论，讲解证明基督必须受害，从死人中复活，说：“我所传给你们的这位耶稣，就是基督。”

以利亚害怕，就起来，逃命去了。他到了犹大的别是巴，就把自己的仆人留在那里。

但你们中间却不要这样；谁想在你们中间成为大的，就要作你们的仆役；

巴拿巴和扫罗完成了送交捐项的任务，就带著名叫马可的约翰，从耶路撒冷回来。

于是，摩西和他的侍从约书亚起来；摩西就上到神的山那里去了。

只有路加在我这里。你找到了马可，就把他带来，因为他在圣工上对我有益。
