因為神預先所知道的人，神也預先定下他們和他兒子的形像相似，使他兒子在眾多弟兄中做長子；而且，神預先所定下的人，神又召他們來；所召來的人，又稱他們為義；所稱為義的人，又使他們得榮耀。

所以怎麼樣呢？以色列人並沒有獲得他們所尋求的，蒙揀選的人卻獲得了，而其餘的人都成了剛硬的，

我另外有羊，不是這圈裡的。我必須把他們帶來，他們會聽我的聲音，並且合成一群，同歸一個牧人。

可是你們不信，因為你們不是我的羊。我的羊聽我的聲音，我也認識他們，他們也跟著我；

並且使外邦人因著所蒙的憐憫而榮耀神，正如經上所記：「為此，我要在外邦人中承認你，歌頌你的名。」經上又說：「外邦人哪，你們要與他的子民一同慶祝！」又說：「萬國啊，你們要讚美主！萬民哪，你們要頌讚他！」又有以賽亞說：「將有耶西的根，就是興起來統治外邦人的那一位；外邦人要仰望他。」

就如他從創世以前，在基督裡揀選了我們，使我們在他面前成為聖潔、毫無瑕疵。他在愛中，

而且不僅是替猶太民族死，也是要把神的那些四散的兒女都召集合一。

蒙主所愛的弟兄們，我們應該為你們常常感謝神，因為神為了救恩的緣故，就藉著在聖靈裡的分別為聖，以及真理的信仰，揀選了你們做為初熟的果子。為此，神也藉著我們的福音召喚了你們，使你們獲得我們主耶穌基督的榮耀。

甚至當我們還死在過犯中的時候，就使我們與基督一同活過來——你們得救是藉著恩典！神又使我們在基督耶穌裡，與基督一同復活、一同坐在天上，為了在將來的各世代中，在基督耶穌裡，藉著對我們的仁慈，可以顯出他那無限恩典的豐盛。你們得救確實是藉著恩典、藉著信，這不是出於你們自己，而是神的恩賜；也不是本於行為，免得有人自誇。實際上，我們是神的創作，是為了美善的工作在基督耶穌裡被造成的；神早已預備好了美善工作，要我們在其中行事。

事實上，我也被放在人的權下，也有士兵在我之下。我對這個說『去』，他就去；對那個說『來』，他就來；對我的奴僕說『做這事』，他就去做。」

於是他們和保羅定好了日子，就有更多的人來到他的住所。保羅從早到晚對他們講解，為神的國鄭重地做見證，並且引用摩西的律法和先知書上有關耶穌的事來勸導他們。

我們先上船開往阿索，要在那裡接保羅；原來他這樣安排，是因為自己要走陸路。

並且在我們這些相信之人的身上，照著他力量的權能作為，他能力的無限偉大到底是什麼。

弟兄們，你們知道司提法納一家人是亞該亞初熟的果子，而且他們獻上了自己去服事聖徒們。我勸你們，

「我說：『主啊！我該做什麼呢？』「主對我說：『起來，進大馬士革城去，在那裡你將被告知所指定你做的一切事。』

那位天使對他們說：「不要怕！因為看哪，我傳給你們一個大喜的信息，是要給萬民的。今天，在大衛的城裡，為你們誕生了一位救主，他就是主基督。

十一個門徒往加利利去，到了耶穌給他們指定的那座山上。

所有的人都當服從在上掌權的，因為沒有一個掌權的不是出於神。所有掌權的，都是由神所指定的。

我要向你聖潔的殿下拜，要因你的慈愛和信實稱頌你的名，因為你使你的名和你的話顯為大，超過一切。

讚美神，並且得到全體民眾的喜愛。主就在那裡使得救的人與日俱增。

最後，弟兄們，請為我們禱告：願主的福音能迅速傳開，並且得著榮耀，就像在你們那裡一樣；

讀完了信，會眾因著那鼓勵的話而感到歡喜。

所以那城裡，有極大的喜樂。

保羅、巴拿巴與他們發生了不小的爭執和辯論，他們就指定保羅、巴拿巴和其中的另一些人為這爭議的問題，上耶路撒冷到使徒們和長老們那裡去。

於是領受他話的人就受了洗；那一天大約增加了三千人。

保羅和巴拿巴離開會堂的時候，大家請求他們在下一個安息日再向他們講這些話。
