Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly:“ We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.

“ Therefore I want you to know that God’s salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen!”

First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds.

When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”

“ Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.

“ Then the Lord said to me,‘ Go; I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”

but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah.But when they opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them,“ Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent of it. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

“ Fellow children of Abraham and you God- fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent.

Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says,“ I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.”And Isaiah boldly says,“ I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.”But concerning Israel he says,“ All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people.”

Jesus replied:“ A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests.At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited,‘ Come, for everything is now ready.’“ But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said,‘ I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’“ Another said,‘ I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’“ Still another said,‘ I just got married, so I can’t come.’“ The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant,‘ Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’“‘ Sir,’ the servant said,‘ what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’“ Then the master told his servant,‘ Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’”

He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.

and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry

“ You stiff- necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit!

the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises.Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them.The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.“ Then he said to his servants,‘ The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come.So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

They made me jealous by what is no god and angered me with their worthless idols. I will make them envious by those who are not a people; I will make them angry by a nation that has no understanding.

The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

“ I have seen these people,” the Lord said to Moses,“ and they are a stiff-necked people.Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.”

And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.

Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.

If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you.If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.

And now the Lord says— he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the Lord and my God has been my strength—he says:“ It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”This is what the Lord says— the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel— to him who was despised and abhorred by the nation, to the servant of rulers:“ Kings will see you and stand up, princes will see and bow down, because of the Lord, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”This is what the Lord says:“ In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances,

From Perga they went on to Pisidian Antioch. On the Sabbath they entered the synagogue and sat down.

You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.

quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.

When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper.

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
