Both Paul and Barnabas replied courageously,“ It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we are turning to the Gentiles.

Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said,“ It was necessary that God’s word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from yourselves, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

Therefore, let it be known to you that this saving work of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen!”

Instead, I preached to those in Damascus first, and to those in Jerusalem and in all the region of Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works worthy of repentance.

God raised up His Servant and sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways.”

Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing its fruit.

“ Then He said to me,‘ Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”

so you will summon a nation you do not know, and nations who do not know you will run to you. For the Lord your God, even the Holy One of Israel, has glorified you.”

but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does what is good, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.

When Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with preaching the message and solemnly testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Messiah.But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook his robe and told them,“ Your blood is on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.

Then He told him:“ A man was giving a large banquet and invited many.At the time of the banquet, he sent his slave to tell those who were invited,‘ Come, because everything is now ready.’“ But without exception they all began to make excuses. The first one said to him,‘ I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. I ask you to excuse me.’“ Another said,‘ I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m going to try them out. I ask you to excuse me.’“ And another said,‘ I just got married, and therefore I’m unable to come.’“ So the slave came back and reported these things to his master. Then in anger, the master of the house told his slave,‘ Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in here the poor, maimed, blind, and lame!’“‘ Master,’ the slave said,‘ what you ordered has been done, and there’s still room.’“ Then the master told the slave,‘ Go out into the highways and lanes and make them come in, so that my house may be filled.For I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will enjoy my banquet!’”

He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him.

and repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

I ask, then, have they stumbled in order to fall? Absolutely not! On the contrary, by their stumbling, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous.Now if their stumbling brings riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full number bring!Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. In view of the fact that I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,

“ You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit; as your ancestors did, so do you.

They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple service, and the promises.The ancestors are theirs, and from them, by physical descent, came the Messiah, who is God over all, praised forever. Amen.

And the others seized his slaves, treated them outrageously and killed them.The king was enraged, so he sent out his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned down their city.“ Then he told his slaves,‘ The banquet is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.Therefore go to where the roads exit the city and invite everyone you find to the banquet.’So those slaves went out on the roads and gathered everyone they found, both evil and good. The wedding banquet was filled with guests.

And now, Lord, consider their threats, and grant that Your slaves may speak Your message with complete boldness,while You stretch out Your hand for healing, signs, and wonders to be performed through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak God’s message with boldness.

They have provoked My jealousy with their so-called gods; they have enraged Me with their worthless idols. So I will provoke their jealousy with an inferior people; I will enrage them with a foolish nation.

The wicked flee when no one is pursuing them, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

The Lord also said to Moses:“ I have seen this people, and they are indeed a stiff-necked people.Now leave Me alone, so that My anger can burn against them and I can destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.”

Most of the brothers in the Lord have gained confidence from my imprisonment and dare even more to speak the message fearlessly.

Instead, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

and if the household is worthy, let your peace be on it. But if it is unworthy, let your peace return to you.If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that house or town.I assure you: It will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.

And now, says the Lord, who formed me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him so that Israel might be gathered to Him; for I am honored in the sight of the Lord, and my God is my strength—He says,“ It is not enough for you to be My Servant raising up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protected ones of Israel. I will also make you a light for the nations, to be My salvation to the ends of the earth.”This is what the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, says to one who is despised, to one abhorred by people, to a servant of rulers:“ Kings will see and stand up, and princes will bow down, because of the Lord, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel— and He has chosen you.”This is what the Lord says: I will answer you in a time of favor, and I will help you in the day of salvation. I will keep you, and I will appoint you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land, to make them possess the desolate inheritances,

They continued their journey from Perga and reached Antioch in Pisidia. On the Sabbath day they went into the synagogue and sat down.

You Samaritans worship what you do not know. We worship what we do know, because salvation is from the Jews.

quenched the raging of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, gained strength after being weak, became mighty in battle, and put foreign armies to flight.

Arriving in Salamis, they proclaimed God’s message in the Jewish synagogues. They also had John as their assistant.

When they observed the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and recognized that they had been with Jesus.

Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough in Him to speak as I should.
