可是，犹太人反对、毁谤保罗。保罗便抖掉衣服上的灰尘，对他们说：“你们的罪都归在你们自己头上，与我无关！从今以后，我要去外族人那里了。”

大祭司和他的同党撒都该人看见这情形，妒火中烧，

如今你们不再和他们同流合污，他们觉得奇怪，就用恶言毁谤你们。

可是有些人仍然顽固不信，还当众毁谤上帝的道。保罗便带着门徒离开他们，天天在推喇奴的学堂辩论。

阻止我们传福音给外族人，唯恐他们得救。这些人恶贯满盈，上帝的烈怒终于临到了他们头上。

圣经上说：“上帝所赐、住在我们心里的圣灵深愿我们完全属于祂。”你们以为这是空谈吗？

但有些来自古利奈、亚历山大、基利迦和亚细亚、属于“自由人会堂”的犹太人联合起来与司提凡辩论。他们无法驳倒司提凡，因为他靠着智慧和圣灵说话。

你们仍然是属肉体的人，因为你们中间有嫉妒、争斗。这岂不证明你们是属肉体的，行事为人和世人一样吗？

他们心里塞满了各种不义、邪恶、贪婪、阴险、嫉妒、凶杀、纷争、诡诈、恶毒；说长道短、

“虚伪的律法教师和法利赛人啊，你们有祸了！因为你们当着人们的面关闭天国之门，自己不进去，也不让别人进去。

我又看见人的一切劳碌和成就原是出于争强好胜。这也是虚空，如同捕风。

“那时，大儿子正在田间。当他回来还没到门口，就听见家里传出奏乐跳舞的声音。他叫来一个奴仆问个究竟。“奴仆回答说，‘你弟弟回来了！你父亲因他无灾无难地回来，特地宰了那只肥牛犊。’大儿子很生气，不肯进去。父亲就出来劝他。“他对父亲说，‘你看，我伺候你这么多年，从来没有违背过你的命令，可是你没有给过我一只羊羔，让我和朋友一同欢宴。但你这个儿子在娼妓身上耗尽家财，一回来，你倒为他宰了肥牛犊！’

那些不信主的犹太人却妒火中烧，他们召集了一群市井无赖，在城里引发骚乱，闯进耶孙的家企图把保罗和西拉揪出来示众。

但如果你们心怀苦毒的嫉妒和自私的野心，就不要自夸说有智慧，也不要违背真理去撒谎。这种智慧并非来自天上，而是从世俗、私欲和魔鬼来的。哪里有嫉妒和自私的野心，哪里就会有混乱和各样的恶事。

你惩罚的手高高举起，他们却看不见。愿他们因看见你向你子民所发的热心而感到羞愧。愿你为敌人预备的火烧灭他们。

约瑟的哥哥们嫉恨他，他父亲却把这些话记在心里。

摩西说：“你是怕我的权威受影响吗？愿耶和华的子民都成为先知！愿耶和华把祂的灵降在他们身上！”

嫉妒、凶杀、醉酒和荒宴无度等。我从前警告过你们，现在再一次警告你们：行这些事的人必不能承受上帝的国。

因为彼拉多知道他们把耶稣抓来是因为嫉妒。
