For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God. If it begins first with us, what will happen to those who don’t obey the Good News of God?

What then? That which Israel seeks for, that he didn’t obtain, but the chosen ones obtained it, and the rest were hardened.According as it is written,“ God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.”David says,“ Let their table be made a snare, a trap, a stumbling block, and a retribution to them.Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see. Always keep their backs bent.”I ask then, did they stumble that they might fall? May it never be! But by their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.Now if their fall is the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness?For I speak to you who are Gentiles. Since then as I am an apostle to Gentiles, I glorify my ministry;if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and may save some of them.

They told him,“ He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will lease out the vineyard to other farmers, who will give him the fruit in its season.”Jesus said to them,“ Did you never read in the Scriptures,‘ The stone which the builders rejected was made the head of the corner. This was from the Lord. It is marvelous in our eyes?’“ Therefore I tell you, God’s Kingdom will be taken away from you, and will be given to a nation producing its fruit.He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but on whomever it will fall, it will scatter him as dust.”

and say,“ How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;

Therefore behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify; and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city;that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar.Most certainly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed,“ Most certainly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a faith, not even in Israel.I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven,

A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?For we know him who said,“ Vengeance belongs to me;” says the Lord,“ I will repay.” Again,“ The Lord will judge his people.”

“ But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand.Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let those who are in the middle of her depart. Let those who are in the country not enter therein.For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people.They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves;men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

For so has the Lord commanded us, saying,‘ I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’”

The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they scoffed at him.

When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.“ Then he said to his servants,‘ The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the wedding feast.’Those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests.

saying,“ If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.For the days will come on you, when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”

It will be that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’

how that by revelation the mystery was made known to me, as I wrote before in few words,by which, when you read, you can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ,which in other generations was not made known to the children of men, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit,that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of his promise in Christ Jesus through the Good News,of which I was made a servant according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power.To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

“ He said to me,‘ Depart, for I will send you out far from here to the Gentiles.’”

Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust, because they have rejected the law of Yahweh of Armies, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

You will leave your name for a curse to my chosen; and the Lord Yahweh will kill you. He will call his servants by another name,

forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.

After the sixty- two weeks the Anointed One will be cut off, and will have nothing. The people of the prince who come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end will be with a flood, and war will be even to the end. Desolations are determined.He will make a firm covenant with many for one week. In the middle of the week he will cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease. On the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, wrath will be poured out on the desolate.”

the mystery which has been hidden for ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to his saints,to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you,when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me;because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of Yahweh.They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof.Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own schemes.For the backsliding of the simple will kill them. The careless ease of fools will destroy them.

Therefore hear Yahweh’s word, you scoffers, that rule this people in Jerusalem:“ Because you have said,‘ We have made a covenant with death, and we are in agreement with Sheol. When the overflowing scourge passes through, it won’t come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood.’”Therefore the Lord Yahweh says,“ Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone of a sure foundation. He who believes shall not act hastily.I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plumb line. The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters will overflow the hiding place.Your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it.As often as it passes through, it will seize you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be nothing but terror to understand the message.”For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket is too narrow to wrap oneself in.For Yahweh will rise up as on Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his unusual work, and bring to pass his act, his extraordinary act.Now therefore don’t be scoffers, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard a decree of destruction from the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, on the whole earth.

The people stood watching. The rulers with them also scoffed at him, saying,“ He saved others. Let him save himself, if this is the Christ of God, his chosen one!”

For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place, and will change the customs which Moses delivered to us.”
