Look, you scoffers, marvel and vanish away, because I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will never believe, even if someone were to explain it to you.”

‘看吧，你们这些好讥诮的人哪！惊奇吧，灭亡吧！因为在你们的时代里，我要做一件事，就算有人向你们详细说明，你们也绝不会相信。’”

『看吧，你們這些好譏誚的人哪！驚奇吧，滅亡吧！因為在你們的時代裡，我要做一件事，就算有人向你們詳細說明，你們也絕不會相信。』」

曰、藐忽者乎、爾其視之、且駭且亡、蓋於爾之時、我方有為、人雖告爾、爾必不信、○

「傲慢不恭者、始見之、繼駭之、終之歸於淪滅。蓋當爾之日、吾之所行、雖有人為爾諄諄、爾亦必聽之藐藐也。』

“‘ Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish, for I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you.’”

“‘ Look, you who make fun of the truth! Wonder and die! I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe. You wouldn’t believe it even if someone told you.’ ”( Habakkuk 1:5)

“‘ Look, you scoffers, be astounded and perish; for I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you.’”

‘ Look, you mockers, be amazed and die! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.’”

‘ Look, you scoffers, and be astonished, and perish; For I am accomplishing a work in your days, A work which you will never believe, though someone should describe it to you.’ ”

‘ Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, A work which you will by no means believe, Though one were to declare it to you.’”

Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish; For I work a work in your days, A work which ye shall in no wise believe, if one declare it unto you.

‘ Look, you scoffers; be amazed and perish! For I am doing a work in your days, a work you would never believe, even if someone tells you.’”

‘ Behold, you scoffers, and wonder, and perish; for I work a work in your days, a work which you will in no way believe, if one declares it to you.’”

Look at the nations and observe— be utterly astounded! For I am doing something in your days that you will not believe when you hear about it.

For the time has come for judgment to begin with God’s household, and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?

What then? Israel did not find what it was looking for, but the elect did find it. The rest were hardened,as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear, to this day.And David says, Let their table become a snare and a trap, a pitfall and a retribution to them.Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and their backs be bent continually.I ask, then, have they stumbled so as to fall? Absolutely not! On the contrary, by their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous.Now if their transgression brings riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fullness bring!Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Insofar as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,if I might somehow make my own people jealous and save some of them.

“ He will completely destroy those terrible men,” they told him,“ and lease his vineyard to other farmers who will give him his fruit at the harvest.”Jesus said to them,“ Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is what the Lord has done and it is wonderful in our eyes?Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruit.Whoever falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will shatter him.”

and you will say,“ How I hated discipline, and how my heart despised correction.

This is why I am sending you prophets, sages, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.So all the righteous blood shed on the earth will be charged to you, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar.Truly I tell you, all these things will come on this generation.“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!See, your house is left to you desolate.

Hearing this, Jesus was amazed and said to those following him,“ Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with so great a faith.I tell you that many will come from east and west to share the banquet with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

Anyone who disregarded the law of Moses died without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses.How much worse punishment do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, who has regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?For we know the one who has said, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge his people.

“ When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that its desolation has come near.Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains. Those inside the city must leave it, and those who are in the country must not enter it,because these are days of vengeance to fulfill all the things that are written.Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days, for there will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people.They will be killed by the sword and be led captive into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.“ Then there will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and there will be anguish on the earth among nations bewildered by the roaring of the sea and the waves.People will faint from fear and expectation of the things that are coming on the world, because the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

For this is what the Lord has commanded us: I have made you a light for the Gentiles to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”

The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and scoffing at him.

The king was enraged, and he sent out his troops, killed those murderers, and burned down their city.“ Then he told his servants,‘ The banquet is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.Go then to where the roads exit the city and invite everyone you find to the banquet.’So those servants went out on the roads and gathered everyone they found, both evil and good. The wedding banquet was filled with guests.

saying,“ If you knew this day what would bring peace— but now it is hidden from your eyes.For the days will come on you when your enemies will build a barricade around you, surround you, and hem you in on every side.They will crush you and your children among you to the ground, and they will not leave one stone on another in your midst, because you did not recognize the time when God visited you.”

And everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be completely cut off from the people.

The mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have briefly written above.By reading this you are able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ.This was not made known to people in other generations as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit:The Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and partners in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.I was made a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace that was given to me by the working of his power.This grace was given to me— the least of all the saints— to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of Christ,

“ He said to me,‘ Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”

Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes straw and as dry grass shrivels in the flame, so their roots will become like something rotten and their blossoms will blow away like dust, for they have rejected the instruction of the LORD of Armies, and they have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

You will leave your name behind as a curse for my chosen ones, and the Lord GOD will kill you; but he will give his servants another name.

by keeping us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. As a result, they are constantly filling up their sins to the limit, and wrath has overtaken them at last.

After those sixty-two weeks the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the coming ruler will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come with a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations are decreed.He will make a firm covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering. And the abomination of desolation will be on a wing of the temple until the decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator.”

the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints.God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Since I called out and you refused, extended my hand and no one paid attention,since you neglected all my counsel and did not accept my correction,I, in turn, will laugh at your calamity. I will mock when terror strikes you,when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when trouble and stress overcome you.Then they will call me, but I won’t answer; they will search for me, but won’t find me.Because they hated knowledge, didn’t choose to fear the LORD,were not interested in my counsel, and rejected all my correction,they will eat the fruit of their way and be glutted with their own schemes.For the apostasy of the inexperienced will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.

Therefore hear the word of the LORD, you scoffers who rule this people in Jerusalem.For you said,“ We have made a covenant with Death, and we have an agreement with Sheol; when the overwhelming catastrophe passes through, it will not touch us, because we have made falsehood our refuge and have hidden behind treachery.”Therefore the Lord GOD said:“ Look, I have laid a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will be unshakable.And I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the mason’s level.” Hail will sweep away the false refuge, and water will flood your hiding place.Your covenant with Death will be dissolved, and your agreement with Sheol will not last. When the overwhelming catastrophe passes through, you will be trampled.Every time it passes through, it will carry you away; it will pass through every morning— every day and every night. Only terror will cause you to understand the message.Indeed, the bed is too short to stretch out on, and its cover too small to wrap up in.For the LORD will rise up as he did at Mount Perazim. He will rise in wrath, as at the Valley of Gibeon, to do his work, his unexpected work, and to perform his task, his unfamiliar task.So now, do not scoff, or your shackles will become stronger. Indeed, I have heard from the Lord GOD of Armies a decree of destruction for the whole land.

The people stood watching, and even the leaders were scoffing:“ He saved others; let him save himself if this is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One!”

For we heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”
