你們要向列國觀看，注意看，要驚奇，再驚奇！因為在你們的日子，有一件事發生，儘管有人說了，你們還是不信。

萬軍之耶和華說：「看哪，那日臨近，勢如燒着的火爐，凡狂傲的和行惡的都如碎稭，在那日被燒盡，根與枝條無一存留。

他來的日子，誰能當得起呢？他顯現的時候，誰能立得住呢？因為他如煉金匠的火，如漂洗者的鹼。

弟兄們，你們要謹慎，免得你們中間有人存着邪惡不信的心，離棄了永生的神。

你們總要謹慎，不可拒絕那向你們說話的，因為那些拒絕了在地上警戒他們的，尚且不能逃罪，何況我們違背那從天上警戒我們的呢？

不要自己心裏說：『我們有亞伯拉罕為祖宗。』我告訴你們，神能從這些石頭中給亞伯拉罕興起子孫來。現在斧子已經放在樹根上，凡不結好果子的樹就砍下來，丟在火裏。我是用水給你們施洗，叫你們悔改；但那在我以後來的，能力比我更大，我就是給他提鞋子也不配，他要用聖靈與火給你們施洗。他手裏拿着簸箕，要揚淨他的穀物，把麥子收在倉裏，把糠用不滅的火燒盡。」

我們若忽略這麼大的救恩，怎能逃避呢？這拯救起先是主親自講的，後來是聽見的人給我們證實了。

所以，看哪，我要在這百姓中行奇妙的事，就是奇妙又奇妙的事。他們智慧人的智慧必然消滅，聰明人的聰明必然消失。」
